SFB module R9 ships: F-CS, K-B10T
« on: September 19, 2004, 04:53:44 pm »
.. and here I am again.. trying to prepare models for a some-time-in-future release of OP+ for ships that have just been released in the SFB world. So far, I have 2 such completed models:

1- Klingon B10T Emergency BattleShip:
download: http://klingon.stasis.ca/models/klingon/fs_kb10t.zip

The Invulnerable's rear hull was destroyed in SpaceDock, leaving the Klingon fleet with a very expensive Klingon boom. The B8 was one proposal of what to do with it. The B10T was another.

2- Federation Strike Cruiser:
The Prometheus was built as a prototype for a competing design for which the well-known F-NCL War Cruisers obviously won. This ship has full-sized engines and saucer, but a smaller secondary hull resulting in a lghter ship: 5/6th move cost.

Kitbashed from LordSchtupp's Enterprise.

Have a good weekend, everyone.

Always nice to have TMP models. Especially non-Federation ones.

Well, you shouldknow me by now..
My model-making is always part of a larger design. ;)

If something's TOS, it's probably for a good reason. I prefer TMP.

Excellent!

Huh. I wonder what the SFB stats for that ship are. . (may have to get some new SFB products, me thinks. . .)

Hi Luc
If I could make a suggestion that The Belknap class which is tmp fits the bill for a strike cruiser. and there is a model of it floating around on the various web sites.

Perhaps I can explain differently?
In SFB, module R9, this ship was built as a prototype in Y165. There were no others and I doubt StarFleet would have updated its systems to TMP...

36 power and 5/6 move cost. huh. Probably a full CC+ weapons suite to boot. huh. Good as a one-off ship.

I guess I should give ADB some money and buy the last few books. I kind of lost interest in the SSD's somewhere along the line. . .when all the BCH's became so interchangable and everyone went drone crazy. ut I keep seeing these new ships . . . I gotta get caught up! In SFC, I have become a big fan of the Fed DNL and C5.

As for the Belknap Strike Cruiser: I am a big fan of this ship. I tend to use this in the CB slot. I play the ship as a straight CB. Having two G racks gives the ship good drone kill abilities, leaving all those nasty phasers for anti-ship work. If you want to give it more of the Belknap flavor, you could give the side phasers true LS/RS arcs, considering the reduced profiles of the warp engines. . . .heck I think I am going to modify my ship list right now to do that very thing.. . . . . . .

Weapons on the Belknap in the books are fairly similar but slightly heavier than the Enterprise class. ( I think 12 phasers on the Saucer, and two right aft.. . .don't have the books handy).

It's slightly less than a CC+'s weapons suite.

Look like? same basic shape.
Weaponry? Why would that be any different?

I'm guessing, FS, that Age was refering to what the ship originally carries and any refits that would be available beyond the standard + and G-rack refits- like the F-CAR adding a 4th pair of phasers to cover the rear arc.

It is a cheese ship becuase of its powercurve. 4 photons, and a certain number of ph1s, as well as .. 2 drones was it?
.. all this on a ship with a move cost of 5/6. 38 power?
.. it can go speed 30 with 25 power spent.. that leaves a lot of overhead.. in fact enough to hold all the photons, have ECM, etc. All this as early as Y165. For Y165, it's a very interesting ship. We'll have to see on the D2 how it performs, however.
