I really need the help of you guys. I'm trying to create a VL model of a kitbash ship that a friend of mine is working on. He's basically created the kitbash, and I made the background story and resized one of his ingame pics to create the BS image, but I can't make the VL image. I have Photoshop 7, Taldren Mod Viewer, and am currently trying to download a demo version of 3DS Max 6 and I have Milkshape also on my computer with the plugins to import .mod files. Any help would be appreciated!!! Thanks.

make sure your image size is right.

Max6 wont help you, it doesnt support the Mod format, youd have to import it as a MOD into MS then export as a 3ds, if that can be done.

Thanks Fury. I'll try that. I've tried converting the .mod files using MS before, but it crashes my computer. The only MS I could get was the 1.7.1 that's on the main website.

Did I mention that the kitbash is nothing more than a kitbash of textures, and that the actual physical model is still the same, and what I'm trying to do is make a new VL to show the new name on the ship?

With any luck, I'll have a working copy of 3D Studio Max 4 and/or 5 within the next day. Is it possible to make the VL and TI images with either of these versions? I can no longer use Milkshape cause it crashes my system, regardless if I install and uninstall. I know there are plugins for version 4, but are there any for version 5? I would really appreciate any help you guys can give me. Thanks.

Yes you can do both acually all three views can be done in max you will just need to resize them to the proper dimensions and that can be done with MS Paint

Ok, trying to download a copy of the program isn't working. I almost got it to work but version 5 is mission the setup9.cab or something like that. Does anyone have version 5 setup and that particular file? I'd really appreciate it. From what I can tell, there are plugins for versions 3,4, and 5, and I can't find the programs for sale online except on Amazon.com, but it's like 1200 bucks!!! Milkshape crashes my system, and GMax doesn't take the plugins. Any help you guys can offer would be greatly appreciated.

and heres how u do it. goto rendering then render then where it says width and height use those numbers in the same order. then just save as a bitmap. that easy

I already took care of the images. My main problem was trying to get the missing setup files for the program, but that's been taken care of and I now have a working copy. :-D Oh, and the ship is completed. Just trying to find someone at SFC3Files now so I can upload the ship. The e-mail for submitting files doesn't work.

Make sure you edit the readme, and ask permission, or you'll end up in the doghouse..

I'm already way ahead of you on that one. In fact the guy I was helping on this project had already taken care of it. He gave the ship to me for final touches.
