Thats one fine ship indeed...

You should call her the Fearless class, it seems to suit her quite well  8)

If not the Fearless, certianly call it the

Invincible
or
Indefatigable (tireless, unyielding)).

I like the name Indefatigable, it was the name of the first ship Horatio Hornblower served on.

Here is what I have so far ..   still working the details out ..  but on paper it looks promising..

here are my personal specs for the last ship to be developed (chronologically speaking by star date .. in actuality the ADD will be the last to be made)

These numbers are rough .. but not without some time taken to get the numbers extrapolated based on existing ships:

Hull class size: CA ( though built on what some refer to as a CL .. her over all design and power mass make her a low end CA)

Hull class designation by design: SeaWolf Advanced Attack series

Registry: NCC-76101 (if not taken and not out of sync with ships developed post Dominion War)

Ship Name: USS Iron Sides ( consideration) or USS Hammer Head (consideration) or USS Rapier (meaning steel blade or weapon also for consideration)

Historical reference: A direct descendant of the Sea Wolf class / Miranda Class and the USS Bass Master. All Advanced technologies including multi-vectoring attack capabilities. Released just prior to the Titan only 5 are known to exist at this time.

SPECS:

Total Mass: 22675
total impulse: apx 989
total warp usage: aprx 141 / 160
maneuverability: 1.10
shields: shld7 all sides
primary weapons: 8 phs 10F or 6 phs 10F with 2 ea Pulse phasers ( see note in thread to follow concerning pulse phasers: fixed not 360^ ? )
heavy weapons: 4 forward q-torps 1 rearward (possibly 2 rearward if power curve allows)
armor: 3
computer: 5
tractor: 5
Warp Core: 8
Impulse: 7
Thruster: 6

I am certain that there will be some tweaking ... but this ship is exactly what the Bass Master should have been.. but due to hull class and other restrictions  ... could not be. However, there is NO reason that this ship should not be as listed. ( Just my 2 cents worth )

Please note the data regarding weapons, power, hull class etc..  is based on data from Nanners GAW Mod.  Undoubtedly others will want to change this to suit their tastes.  We can debate that sort of matters at another time.

Thanks again !!  Keep up the great work   J_O_K_E_R !!

Glad to see you all are liking it  ;D

As I told Old Buzzard last nite on IM, I will be out of town for a while & I'm not sure when I'll be able to resume working on this ship.
However, the modelling work is 90% done, next comes the texturing ( not my favorite area) but once this is done, It'll just be a matter of making a Pylon for a DD class. I just might (If OldBuzzard hasn't already) take this design a step further & put out a FF class.
Al I can say is be patient, I'll have your new ship to you ASAP.

Thanks again

OK, first off, nice design, secondly, a little suggestion:

Now this is an advanced design, right?

Try merging the Nacelles to the main hull, she would kick some serious ass then. or put them to the sides, not facing down.

My 2 cents :)

honestly   I think the nacelles should be tossed. The look like simple streach-a-galaxy-nacelle design, which kinda ruins   the rest of the ship which is alot more original. Perhaps Nacelles along the lines of the Chimera V1 (not smiley's thats V2) would be a better fit?

As for the ship  over all, I guess I am a bit undecided at the moment as to just what I think of it, but I'll  keep lookin.

The nacelles will stay.  One of the things we wanted to do was to keep certain elements of the Miranda Class evident in the design and yet a unique nacelle for the "advanced" cruiser.  For what ever it's worth though I do appreciate the input.  One thing we are looking at seriously is a slight green tint to the glows !  Their thinner, shorter profile was intentional along with keeping them closer to the hull, making them tougher to hit in a combat situation.

Well, the only modelling left to do is on the nacelles.
this is not finished, its just were I had to stop at the time.
the front half are pretty much done, its the back half thats gonna be a bit tricky.
Still trying to figure out how Im gonna go about molding them to match the design pics, instead of trying to do it with textures.

For those of you that havn't seen the design pics yet, this is what its gonna look like.

Thanks bud ..   I needed to hear that !!

There are a couple of rookie mistakes that I need to clean up on the front and bottom views of the Defiant ..

JOKER has done s super job here on this one.  The patch I put togeather above actually turned out ok as well.  I can hardly wait for Joker to get back from his trip and finish this one!  If he gets it done it will be my first model bash done completed since the Advanced Light Cruiser.

I feel like an expectant father again !!!

Sorry guys,For those of you that don't know, I'm an "Over The Road" Truck Driver, I only get maybe a day or 2 at home every week or 2.This is why you don't see me around as much as before.

No new (major) updates as of now, I'm just putting the final touches on the mesh now, minor details.
I'm hoping that Olbussard & my schedules will allow us to hash out some of the final details before I start the texturing.

BTW: While I was waiting to catch Olbuzzard, I started messing around with the DD idea.

REMBER, this is just a crued idea  ::)

Well, I leave Monroe,LA & drive straight across I-20 & I-10 to Los Angeles, CA & back again, with the return trip usually ending up in either Columbus,OH / Atlanta,GA / Orlando,FL / New Orleans,LA / Houston,TX or Dallas,TX.
and then return home to start it all over again.

Hey Dan,
Here are the close ups you asked for.
BTW: don't pay any attention to the veiwport labeled "back", this IS the front of the weapons pod.

Also, As a reminder, you'll need to get with Nanner or someone as far as the weapons & power specs go, To see if you can get all the weapons on here that you want. I'm not very good at all with the SFC3 specs.

Once you have this worked out, I'll need some pics to show me where & wich hard point goes where to corraspond with each weapon.

please label all hardpoints with the weapon of choice, & who ever writes the specs can give the correct arcs.

Well, Im off to Florida, I should be back this weekend.

Alternate universe:  Khan was banished for preserving the peace. The Genesis device was really a super weapon and kirk had planned to use it on the klingons. Chekov found the Botany Bay and khan hijakced and killed the evil reliant crew in an effort to destroy the genesis device.    Ahh i love it :D The alternate universe rocks.

Oh yes !!  that is one of Jokers trade marks ..  I have some up-dated picts I'll post after I get off of work !!

(Hhehehe  if I thought I wouldn't get shot ...  (by Joker...  ) ..  I'd post the idea with the updated bridge area ...Frankly it was a mistake on my part to remove too much of that area off of the Sovy hull  ( which is the basis of this design ...)

unfortunately it may never get done !
