Anyone play MechWarrior Dark Age?
« on: September 17, 2004, 06:29:44 pm »
I'm wondering because I'm trying to put togeather an entire faction set- the Highlanders. One of the regements is called the 'First Kearney'... the original spelling of my family mane.

I'm looking for, in specific, all of the ICE powered Industrial 'Mechs for the set.

If anyone here plays, and would be interested in selling or trading, please, let me know!

I have a couple of buddies that do.  I'll see what they have and see waht they want in return.

I primarily play regular Miniature games like Silent Death but out of the 'Clicker' games I play Crimson Skies (imagine that).

I got all the stes for CS, but no one to play it with. I'm really POed that WizKids stopped making stuff for CS- I wanted my Confederate Air Force Valliants and Kesterals!

I'm a immensely huge Battletech fan (Trueborn side, naturally) myself, but I never got into the PnP, so all I can do is point you to a side. Dropshipcommand (www.com) it is called, and it used to be the heart of Btech gaming, though the canceliation of MW5 and the ending of CBT/coming of DA effectectively killed it's spirit. A husk of what it once was, but most of the guys still lurk about, and you'll probably find someone willing to talk trades. Could try www.classicbattletech.com I guess, the only other big BTech site I know about, but I don't fancy it's forums.

P.S. Highlanders? Psh! Go Swordsworn!

Thanks... I'm already hitting up CBT.com's forums... no joy there yet on the two that I'm missing.

Notice... they are signing a petition on the CBT site to ask for a restart on MW5. I don't know how it would be, but i'm all for it if it's more like MW3 and Pirate's Moon than MW4 (though the storyline for Mercs was good).

Oh, they're will be MW5. The Mechwarrior consistently sold well throughtout it's history. MW4 sold over 500,000 units. But with the Mech Paks and Mercs and Mechassault, after Black Knight, Vengence, and MC2, the niche market was pretty heavily saturated, so they cancelled MW5. But in the ruthless and cutthroat business of gaming, a consisent seller is one of most valued things there is. After the appite has time to grow hungry they'll start on MW5.

And I agree MW4/BK singleplayer sucked. Somewhat odd too, considering the MW3/MC/MA series had good singleplayer. Great multiplayer though. Spent many thousand of hours online with it.

And oh, I suggest a little patience for a response at DSC. Might be a little while for the lurkers to rotate by and check the site.

Thanks, KA.. will do.

NOw I just got to find a regular playgroup... I was playingwith a few guys in the unit while I was deployed, but they all live a fair piece off, so we don't get to play anymore.

And you might think that it would be blasphmey, but I would like to see a future MW computer game about the Dark Ages. I think it would be cool to pilot a lumbering ICE mech and lay into a tank or another ICE mech with a chainsaw or whack it with a backhoe. ;D

Of course, you would have real BattleMechs, but you would have to workk your way into a House Millitia to get your hands on one, unless you started out in a rich faction or House...

or of course, were one of the decendants of a Trueborn, who never turned over their Mechs when everyone demilitarized.
