KCW voice comms....
« on: September 12, 2004, 03:40:09 pm »
FYI--

Anyone who wishes to use my ventrilo server for KCW is welcome to do so.  If someone needs a private channel set up, just let me know.

Personally, I can use any voice chat, but I know there are people who can only use Team Speak and others can only use Ventrilo.  My only motive is to get as many players on voice chat as possible, because it makes the game more fun for me...

Just to weigh in here, Voice Comms are the choice of the Houses. Use Jd's or TS.

Well, I suspect that one or two of the houses will end up using both.  There are enough people that cannot get teamspeak or ventrilo to work on their systems.  I know it's been that way for the coliation in the past.

Several people(myself included) can use both at the same time.  It does get confusing.....

Anyway,  It's a free offer...  If nobody needs it, it's just more bandwidth for me :).  But bandwidth has not been an issue yet...

66.23.219.58:3784
no pass on the server itself

To get to the server just click this once you have the basic VT client installed ventrilo://66.23.219.58:3784/servername=VoiceChat (or just copy and paste this into a internet browser)

VT downloads can be found here http://members.cox.net/zeppa/sfcop/VT/ventrilo-2.1.4-Windows-i386.exe

P.s. basic setup for the mic input is as follows once connected to the server push the setup button on the right hand side of the screen. If you want to select a transmit key then check use Push-to-talk hotkey and then click in the hotkey box and push whatever you want to transmit with. Also on the right hand side of that window be sure to check the use direct sound for input device.

Also notice that if people say you are too quite or too loud, or people sound too loud or quite too you, you have various methods of adjusting both outbound and inbound voice on the lower right hand side.

There are plenty of other features, but you wll learn those over time.
