Would a Romulan Civil War Server fly?
« on: September 12, 2004, 06:39:15 pm »
This is even SFB cannon, a Romulan Civl war broke out shortly after the General War.  Most of the battles involved X-Squadrons with the Kestrals on one side and the Hawks on the other.

This could also be a good way to give Romulan Plasma fighters a shakedown in a low-pressure enviroment.

Would this fly?

Klinks... Feds... Now Roms...

It's good to know the Lyrans have such a stable government.

Problem would be that most fights would turn into 1 hour plus plasma duels.

Now, it could be fun, but the 2+ hour plasma ballets would kill it, in my oponion.  Not to mention the new OP cloak, which could make finishing nigh impossible.

One thought I had, was IF the source code ever gets out for us, and we could implement plasma bolting, that might make the PvP a ton more tolerable.

Hey DH, why does this phrase sounds so familiar.   I seem to think that I might just have said this in the 2v2 PvP mission where Dizzy and I died in GW3.    Is that where you got it?   Or am I just paranoid?   Or are you really out to get me?

I realize it is not "the" answer to this problem of games that take forever, but there are a few boats with the mauler. One in particular is a favorite of mine. Just a thought.

It's good to know the Lyrans have such a stable government.

Well actually they were in a permanent state of internal war as is seen in most militaristic monarchies. The combat is not necessarily open all the time but the term Lyran Civil War would in fact be redundant.

Not sure I can be bothered, but as you are the Doc, can you run an AI standard patrol in 2 minutes in a KRC? If so, there is no problem and I am utterly wrong. If you cannot, then the KRC is a worse ship for AI missions than ones I know can.
