Sweet... and very reasonable poly count!

What do they look like in-game, or are they ported yet?

Those are very beautiful. You've really captured their likenesses.

Hi all, thanks for input :)

They are all ported, have been for months, I actually made them for Armada 2 but I think that these two are ok enough for SFC'ers too.
If anyone is still interested in modding Armada 2, let me know by giving me an email please! I've made some really really cool (if I do say so myself, I'm normally quite modest but I am very pleased with these effects!) explosion effects, amonst other models and random bits and pieces. For example; nebula dust clouds ala Homeworld 2, new repair beam effects, resource asteroids, and a whole host of original design models and textures for "other races" like the Ferengi, Son'a and Bajorans.

As for the Light Cruiser for SFC, well, I could never decide how to finish off the underside and I'm not happy enough with the model to release it as it is, but I don't have the motive to remake it, so maybe in the future?

I'm still in desperate need of new original designs for the Dominion, Son'a etc - especially stations, although ships are cool too if anyone would be kind enough to donate them? Pretty please ;) I'm building them for A2 firstly for poly count reasons, but this might be where I try out LODs for the first time.

I'm really pleased with how the textures on these two models turned out, I think that they're my best work yet, whereas there might have been a bit more red in the bug in one of the episodes, I'm trying to keep the hull colours more or less uniform between all of the Dominion vessels that I'm making.

EDIT: Oh does anyone know if SFC3 can use bump maps? I used them in A2 on the Dom Battleship and it looks much better for it, I was wondering if I could do the same for SFC3. The bug uses 1 1024x1024 plus a light map, the Battleship uses 1 2048x2048 plus a light map, so lots of room for details.

hey smiley, did you bother to try and look up some  of the failed dominion designs? There some around that are sorta good, and then there is that one oddball dominion cruiser variant we saw in the wormhole that is usualy refered to as the V_wing variant.

Bumpage? lol I'm pissed and pissed in both senses of the phrase - 1) I'm lonely 2) I'm fed up! 3) This board is dead and that does not please! 4) I'm feeling positively mingeresque and I know that I'm not, however I require physical proof!

well, maybe you just need to produce something. You keep saying you'll send them models but you don't produce. I wasted several trips in the cold to check the pobox when you said you mail a disk only to find out later yoyu never bothered to send them. I gave you an ftp and keep checking and still nothing is there....week after week. I am beginning to wonder if I will ever see the stuff, and I am tired of asking/begging.

Oh do stop whinging - and when do you beg? lol
Check the ftp account now, I have uploaded a few things.
I want to know what you will do with them before you send them anywhere and I'd like to write a readme for each one that you use.
