USS Wales progress.
« on: September 11, 2004, 06:27:33 pm »

Still a long way to go yet but J Carney asked what textures I was thinking.... TOS or TNG.... I have created these TOS textures and think they look ok so far.... Im spending allot of time on these ships.... made the models in a day... textures are taking a while though... want them to look 100%  ;D

markyd,

That is AWESOME work, man... simply great. The best damn TOS textures on the Forums!

Appreciate the compliment really do..... not too sure if its the best tos though....  ;D

Im still working on them... they are along way off yet.... I can then use these on the other models.... and make some slight changes.... should have a pretty cool tos fleet on the go eventually!

Again.. thanks for your comments.. appreciated! ;D

Mae Hen Wlad fy Nhadau..........It does us proud. ;D
God said to the Welsh: 'I am going to give you this glorious land of lakes and mountains.' So where's the catch, asked the Welsh? 'Wait until you see the neighbours,' replied God.

well, it may not be the best tos textures I've seen,  but it's good none the less,   and considering how fast it came to be done I'm  not going to complain.

OK, honest critique here:

Phaser mounts and windows:

I know that these are minor details and are to be put in last, but they would be something that you can't be without. The clean-looking hull is awesome (I never liked the TOS stuff that had the heavily defined 'gridsquares' all over the hull, but it could use some visable phaser mounts on the hull and a few more windows. Also, in the vein of the phaser mount, do the photon tubes on the forward part of the bridge structure.

The textures are great... and that Welsh Dragon ROCKS, I can't wait to see it with all the details put in.
