I don't think a Cat would be quite as efficient as an ark.

Tell me about it they have the eye wall passing with in 10 miles of my place, and the thing just intensified 10mph shy of a cat 5.
Its really weird sitting here and looking around my place, and wondering if its all going to be gone in 3-4 days.

Im going to pack up what i can load in my truck. Get my mom and leave on sunday

Im really praying this thing swings out to the gulf.

It looks like your praying is doing a little bit of good.  From what I can read off the projected path, it appears that it's swinging a little further west before landfall.  It's back to hitting over the panhandle.

Great, it misses therm but hits us! ::)

Start praying for it to hit MEXICO! ;D

If I recall correctly, you're the one who volunteered to take the bullet for them.  Who knew Mother Nature might take you up on it.  From what I've been reading the steering winds are very light so the track isn't completely set yet.

Yeah, I know I volunteered. ;D Open mouth, pine tree gets blown in it before you can insert foot.

Either way, I'm glad it's going to go easy on Florida this time- and if it hits the Panahandle and Alabama, there is a better chance of us loosing a lot of those damn high-rise condos on the beaches. Anything over 4stories should be banned anyway!

Almost volunteered myself. Texas hasn't had a hurricane in a while, so let us take on for the team and give the Floridians a break, I was thinking.. But, God forgive me, I want to get out of junior college this year and move on with my life, and that isn't going to happen if the campus (or the house, for that matter) is under water. Both are located on Texas' coastal area, which is flood happy, to say the least.

Though, in all seriousness, the prediction tracks seem to be all over the place. We don't really know where Ivan is going to go, it seems to me. But, I must admit, my confidence in the weather forecasters has been somewhat lessen of late, considering how Charley and Frances gave them the slip to a degree.

Agreed, there shouldn't be high rises on the beach.

I'm just a little worried about the rest of the places though...

My friend and her sister have a 2nd story condo in a little 4 story complex on the inland side of the strip in Gulf Shores. I was thinking of going there for a week next summer. :'( Oh, well... it's insured and Linds and Ash will at least get some money back out of it if it winds up in Bullock County!
