I don't know who you guys in Florida pissed off and how you did it.  But man you did it good.

Of course JC offered it up to the gulf coast, and then told it to go to Louisiana.  So it'll probably get confused between his Alabama and LA and hit me in Mississippi instead.

Gambler, how can anything mistake a Bayou patios for a Mississippi drawl?

Nah, I think that it's going to hit the Keys, skip off and plough through the Gulf (might be that this one has enough inertia to push it agianst the currents) and hit between New Orleans and Galvaston or even possibly Galvaston and the Ucatan.

Collegue at work figured it was punishment for the deciding vote in the last elections.
Had it not been for the past report of trees being transplanted in swimming pools up above I would have laughed too.

chop up tree into firewood and roast marshmellows?  What most people up here would do, but in canada chainsaws and firestarting kits are pretty easy to come by.

You can do smores or baked potatoes alternatively.

Seriously.  If you can't move the tree at all, chop it into sections.

Looks like it's heading east.  Back towards Florida.

Um, I thought it was a 'cool' as in 'it is cool to watch an unusual and spectacular metrological phenominon,' as opposed to 'cool, lots of people are going to die,' but I suppose I shouldn't speak for someone else.

The cool was the fact that the graphic updated without having to post an updated picture not where the storm was actually going.

 My home is allready torn to heck we just got anothe severe thunderstorm with another 4 inches of rain.( All of wich seems to have come in the holes in my roof). And Im lookking at losing every thing i have worked for in the last 25 years.

 My nerves are on edge and im really stressed out. I really am sorry.

Apology accepted.  I can't imagine the stress you guys are going through down there.  It's mind-blowing to those of us who are out of the storm paths to think that not one, not two, but THREE freaking hurricanes in such a short period of time have landed hard on you.

Gambler you would not believe the chaos these 2 storms have caused here.
 
To add to the fear of losing our homes we, have no gas because the tankers could not unload it during the storms, Now we do have the tankers in they are loading it into trucks. The trucks are going out and promptly getting stuck in HUGE traffic jams of people returning from being evacuated.

 We have no food because all of it went bad because the power went out. The food that is here cant be delivered because there is no fuel. And the semis bringing in stuff from out of state are stuck in the above traffic jams.

 There isn't any Tarps, Plywood Tape, etc any where within a 100 mile radius of here. And i could not drive to go get it because there is no gas, and The traffic is all fouled up.

 We are still flooded in many areas and all it has done is rain.

 And what really pisses me off is the media across the country thinks Bill Clintons heart surgery is more important. Than 2 natural disasters in 2 weeks trying to wipe a state off the map. With another comming.

 I hope this helps you relate to my irritation ,and i really am sorry.

I agree that the media is a bunch of stuid f*cks who need to get their f*cking act together but I digress! 

What can I do to help?  Can I send you folks some clothes?  Blankets?  Anything?

I know the traffic is really insane but at some point it's gonna let up and help can get there via Red Cross, UPS, USPS, ect. 

Can anyone else help?  Are there any forum members here that is close enough to help?

You know really sucks is that all of the people returning will have to leave as soon as they get here.
 
 Other than being flooded in and the Roof and water damage to the top floor of my place I'm doing OK.
 But thank you so much for your kind offer.

 If Ivan is going to hit the coast I'm out of here. I'm loading up my horses and pets and going to Georgia, Where i have my Fiance and kids staying.
 I have been through class 4 and 5 hurricanes on Okinawa and i know its going to pretty much finish off what the first 2 did not.

 I have all kinds of insurance but its a shame this place was my life's dream. Its worth about 300,000,$ ( bought it in the early 80s)
 And i have had to save and work 2 jobs most of my adult life to get it.( I was career AF you know how low our pay is.)

 But screw it its only material things. As long as all my girls and pets are safe I'm still one of the luckyest guys on earth.

Well good for you!  At least you think of the most important things.  But you know all of us are still praying for you!  Maybe it'll lose it's punch . . .  and you get to keep your one dream!  I will hope for the best for you and yours!

I can relate, though I've never been through anything better than a Class 3. As soon as the wind dies down, you just pop on here with a list of whatever you need and it'll be on the way Express Mail to whatever mailing address you give.

You know nothing will die out in the Gulf this time of year, man. The water temp is still high 70's/low 80's. It might not get any stronger after getting in the Gulf, but it definately won't die down. Think Fredrick.

Me, I'm just going to be happy if I still have a trailer when it's done. I only live 100 miles inland or so (Auburn, Ala.) and I know that this one is going to be a killer- Ivan the Terrible indeed.

Ivan ain't no hurricane- it is a tornado with a name that just happens to be the size of Texas.

See that was your mistake Ravok.  When your neighbor down the street offered you a timeshare on that REALLY REALLY big boat you should have taken him up on it.  That is if your horses are a male and female.
