Topic: Federation this Klingon that....any modelers with creativity up for a real task?

Would love it if some of the fine artist here could come up with some new Kzin/Mirak designs.  Some good work has been done in the past, but while the quality is fine the quantity is lacking.  I would love it if some new designs not the SFB boxy looking ones and something other than in brick brown could be created.

Perhaps we could even have a contest of sorts and I'll ask the KATs and KOTHs to be the judges.

I hear you there about the need for Mirak/Kzinti designs. I for one would LOVE to see the Mirak cruiser made that appears on the cover of the SFC:EAW box cover made into a high poly model.

In the meantime, we have Firesoul's fine kitbashes included in the OP+ mods, Kreeargh's fine Mirak and some retextures I have done that were not originally Mirak models (e.g., the ZCV in the OP+ 3.4 mod).

Having said that I hope to have a Mirak Stardock and a Wyn Stardock posted soon. They are retextures of the Klingon stardock2 conversion from ST: Armada II. I also have a few Armada II retextured stardock for the Lyrans.

can I have 'til next week end ..  I'll have some sketches for one of the modelers.  (ok it's cut-n- paste stuff but I will take a crack at it)  Once approved one of the modelers can do their thing.

 Trouble is people request Mirak from time to time. Some want new designs but most seem to prefer Taldren style. Seems to be kind of a paradox of sorts. Cause if its Taldren style that is not that new really. Thats why I abandoned making Miraks a long time ago. To be honest I have only seen them requested 3 times counting this thread.

Wernt the Kzin utterly conquered in the GW? I'd think they would be churning out Klingon ships about now like good little obedient kitties...

take all the time you want, but if you want a competition lets set it to continue to say Halloween or so and give everyone some time to gather ideas, yet not keep em waiting too long.

Yup Ive got those as well, not hard to collect all the Kzin you know....

I like the different styles, not all are to my taste but I'm definately not a fan of the brick red ones from the SFB miniture series.

I am missing one from my old computer that I liked alot by Sjinman featuring some burning red engine supports.....woder if anyone has that one.

I know I've requested at least 3 times so perhaps I'm the only one, but I do know that when new ones are done and the KATs and KOTHs find out about it there are alot of happy and appreciative Kitties.  We may be few in number but we will give a most heartfelt appreciation as we have so few to choose from at present.

P.S.  I really liked what you did with the Persuasion class, something like that would look great as a Kzin/Mirak ship.  Very origional concept while keeping to a limited standard.  Would love to see you do some Kzin boats along a similar basis.

In light of additional information that has been posted since the initial response ...  It would be a LOT more productive to see the results of the findings so posted by the other modelers ..   don't you agree ?

I would be MOST supportive of an effort that would be of an obvious benefit to the community.

Those are the typical Taldren style Kzin/Mirak ships.

I once started playing around with the colors a bit on some of the models but soon found out I lacked the proper training and software (was working with Paint  ) to make anything that looked really sharp.

Yet here was a vain effort of mine to give you an idea that I was looking for something more modern and sleek.

I really like the way he gave a claw-like design to the engines.  It is appropriate for the ship of a 7ft tall feline race.

One thing to remember is that most Kzin ships have a left right and center warp engine.

Any use for captured ships of other races. I just recolored this in 2 seconds. IF your interested I could go a bit further converting it to Mirak.

I kind of like the red squid-globe... I think I saw somehwhere else that they are suppoesed to be spherical ships...
