GG, Alliance...nice campaign, Admins!
« on: September 04, 2004, 11:22:59 pm »
I just wanted to take the time to post a thanks to everyone involved in the latest stage of the GW series.  I had a really good time and I appreciate the the efforts of all involved...those intrepid Alliance captains who faced off against us and the admins who did all the work bringing the campaign to us.

Again...a heart felt thanks, guys...I had fun and I appreciate your efforts.

Truly guys, the GW series is a total blast, very well concieved and executed.

I was just musing today, that isn't it awesome that the mirak are done with the general war, right after their HW got taken?  Almost like it was scripted!

Many thanks to the GW server admins, and many more to our worthy foes that truly made this server a fun event.

This was the most stable server (technically) that I can remember in recent months.   Well done to the admins.

Another worthy well done to the Alliance pilots who fought valiantly against a sea of red.    Could someone please just tell Kreug that he can put his bullwhip away.   Talk about being whipped into line!!

Oh yes, everyone please remember, ALWAYS CHECK THE FORUMS BEFORE YOU GET ONTO THE SERVER.   The Lord and Master Kreug was not happy with us that didn't at times.    Heheheheheh.   Sorry, couldn't resist.

:-\ Whipped? I prefer "persuaded"   :P And sorry about the "check the forums" all the time, but, we Admin types spent so much time making posts, especially the "motivate to a blood frenzy" posts that we always appreciate all Warriors checking there.
And I have a real bullwhip, a full 14 ft long...and I know how to use it..heh...My grandfather was a cattle rancher and taught me to use it as a youngster while rounding up the cattle each night to the stockade. So, WATCH IT!  :P

Actually, the Alliance turnout the second week was huge. For a while there, the Coalition was lucky to even hold any ground against them. But, by then, most of the damage had been done by the Coalition.
Perhaps next time, they'll show up a little earlier in the campaign...?

Bumping back the server by 2 weeks as was needed, basically threw away this alliance pilot's ability to play week one due to real life requirements. There was no way I could show up in week one and perhaps others may have been in that boat too. If this campaign had started on aug. 7th as originally planned, I could have played both weeks. Maybe things would have been a bit different for others as well, then again, maybe not. Either way, I don't care for the the way your post ends here. It's insulting.

I think I might have earned about 150K on GW1...only about 75K on GW2....on GW3 I actually got up to about 200k after taking two months off from the game.  The first week was spend enduring the excruciating pain of flying a C8B.  I flew a C8K for about a day and then gave of the dread to Nail who got to turn it into a C10K the next day.  A few days later, I was reacquainted with the sublime joy of flying a C7...something I hadn't done in a very long time....couldn't even remember the last time since I never got one during any of the other stages of the GW series.

Good stuff...I'm spent, but it was fun.  I'll take another break and come back refreshed.  These two-week campaigns are great.

Heh...well, I was pretty exhausted by the time we got into the match.  I'd been on the server for about 10 hours by the time we hooked up.  I knew you were a capable pilot and I knew those Kzin HDWVs were tough ships...we'd lost a dread to one during GW1.  I was playing it pretty safe during the match.  Once they said the campaign was over, the fight went out of me...I'd been on all day and I was just spent. Jessie was screaming about something right next to me and I just decided to tuck tail and run...heheh.

You played it well, though...no doubt about it.  I was just trying to run out your AMD and get rid of those fighters then go to work with my own tools.  3 and 4 AMD racks on those Kzin HDws seems like too much.  By contrast, the 1 AMD12, 2xPh3 and 4 tractors I had were not quite as impressive...heheh.  I was often using most of my phasers for PD.

I tell ya what...by the time GW3 was over, I well and truly tired of fast drones, MIRVs and ships with 3+ AMD racks!  :D
