I e-mailed Centex (Dallas based company) and told them how lame they are even though they are a fortune 250 company. I also said that I would expect not only monetary compensation, but a full rebuild (to exact standards) of all structures torn down.

Dear god that is messed up.  i'm glad that the company is going to try to make it up to the family, but how do you regain the sentimental value?  Whoever was on sight and directing the demolishions had better be at the back of an unemployment line for this.
