So last night I finally get a breather after a long weekend with parents, neighbors, in-laws and birthdays. Got some time to relax, so I decide to sit and watch the closing ceremonies and see what's up with GW3. I log in, see the Alliance has made a decent push back, decide to try out a new ship or two and run a few missions to help the cause.
Next thing I know, I'm in the best battle I've seen all server, 3x3 including 3 CVAs, more fighters and drones than you can count, and having a blast playing for the team. We're staying cool and sticking to the plan. And my machine drops to Windows. Game crash? Nope, not me. Freakin' batteries are low, so Windoze dumps me out. Sorry Bach, 762, and bad guys.
I curse, take a deep breath, and head upstairs. Plug in the machine so it has power, let t00l and Bach know what's happened, and hop back on the server. Note that at this time I'm still on the new laptop, not my regular machine, which is sitting right next to me but powered off. Get back on the server, hop in with another pilot, and he drafts a friggin' B10V and AD5. In an MDC+. I'm in a CVS+, so AI or no, this will be a PIA. I go to hit 'alt' to speak, and hit the windows key instead, dropping me to desktop. This time I can get back in before the game disconnects, but not before my poor ship strays to close in and gets whalloped. We have to flee. From AI. Note that my regular machine has the windows key disabled to prevent just such idiocy as this.
Somewhere in there I think there was a third coop, but I don't recall. I was so annoyed I just quit. Next time, play from the regular box, idiot.
