web browser and web site compatibility question
« on: August 26, 2004, 06:31:08 pm »
Hey there. First off, let's give out some data. I am using Mozilla Firefox .9.3 on XP Pro. I have found two websites that just keep refreshing themselves about every two seconds. I can't even scroll down the page as it refreshes to the top continually.

this is the first site.
http://www.buy.com/

And this is the newest site that does this.
http://www.usopen.org/en_US/index.html

Could there be a reason why only these two sites do this? They are totally unrelated and they are on the only two sites that do this. Oh, I could go back to using IE for these, a IE is stable for these places, but that is just annoying. :)

I tried Both XP home and Pro using both Browsers on each, and didn't have any problems. Cookies maybe? or a Possible Spy attack/Virus?

Stephen the not sure on this one.

I know, that is the thing. When ever I have someone else look, it works just fine. It only seems to be on my end. I have totally uninstalled the browser and cleared everything out. When I reinstall it, it is still there. it is just strange. It is only those two sites. Oh, it has been doing this on the buy.com site pretty much ever since I stared using Firfox, back in the .6 or so Phoenix days. It is just strange and I was wondering if anyone  might know what would make it do that.
