For the love of all things sacred, please stop teasing me............I have to wait until PC Gamer comes out to get the demo. ??? ??? ??? ??? ???

I have watched the development for months, have you read the preview on Gamespy?
Volcanos erupt on the map, and if you fight close to it, you will see it in the distance still smoking. Your spies pic up trained monkies.....and if you have a spy in the city you attack he will open the gates for your army.

My ex girlfriend and now close friend leaves for university on the day this game is released.......I should be sad but my excitement for this game makes me wish the day comes quick. ;D ;D ;D ;D
God said to the Welsh: 'I am going to give you this glorious land of lakes and mountains.' So where's the catch, asked the Welsh? 'Wait until you see the neighbours,' replied God.

If it's anything like Midevel, it can't go wrong.

I downloaded the demo it looks really fantastic, and I will buy the game; but as with the previous one I really wish the Total War franchise would have gotten the rights to do a Middle Earth Total War, everytime I played Medevil I thought how cool it would be if I could recreate some of the battles of Middle Earth.

I read that they are actually using the RTW engine to do those shows.

If it's anything like Medieval, it can't go wrong.

Medieval Total War was awesome.  There were only two things I was even mildly disappointed with.

1) You can't use the campaign game to do multiplayer campaigns.  It's a really good campaign game.  Too bad you can only use it in single player.  I wish they would open this up to multiplayer.

2) The diplomacy system is a little anaemic.  You can't really tell how well you get along with anyone until they invade, and you can't offer anything much as bribes.  (Except the fruit of your loins, if you are Christian.)  I wish Total War would move to a diplomacy model more like Romance of the Three Kingdoms, Birth of the Federation, or even Alpha Centauri.

Regardless, even though I may feel limited to single-player, it is an excellent single-player game.  I will definitely buy Rome:  Total War.

They've already done a Middle Earth Mod for MTW although not for the campaign. I've never tried it so I can't tell you what it's like:

BTW, you can mod the RTW demo to increase unit sizes, to play as any of the four factions, you can change the maps, units etc very easily. All you need to download is the Easymod application that turns the critical moddable attributes in the game into a text file and change what you want. Or you can replace the text file with ones that others have created. It makes the demo a lot of fun.
