You are allowed one Commad ship and one Combat Support ship, which the smaller Tenders are under now.

yeah, but I thought that the DNP/BCS was to count as both the Command and Support ship in the PBR slots. If not they should, if they are not considered carriers.

No because they are both tenders and therefore restricted under the PBR as only 1 specialty ship is allowed. Or did they not get classified as tenders either? If that is the case then they should be. I would even go as far to say they count as both the specialty ship and the command ship under the PBR. Thus if you took one the other 2 ships would have to be vanilla.

Eh...you may be onto something.  The BCS and SCS versions of ships for the PF races only have PF's, not the fighters.  Those ships might need some special dual status.  

dammit.

In theory, I don't have a problem with multiple PF platforms in a single formation.  The Lyran BCH for example - the one with the full 4 PF's - that and a DWP in the same formation is legal in my mind - but considering you can't get a Support vessel unless it's a 3v3, I think the BPV cost would be prohibitive considering the TBPV cap.

But ships that are supposed to be BCS or SCS...they are supposed to be Carriers and be escorted.

Man...and I just updated the Matrices lol.  Well, I won't fix anything till this weekend - so keep posting, it will probably help form how I edit....

Julin, you can buy any ship you want on GSA as long as it was built before or in the era you are playing. If you want to take a ship built in 2230 when playing in 2280 you can with no problem. Refit schedules are for the shipyards in D2 only.

No offense Julin, but I was on just about everyone's list as a really good ISC pilot. If I say the PPD needs to be on a leash you can believe its for a good reason. It is a devastating weapon when there are three or more of them and used correctly.

None taken.  My bad on the GSA stuff, that's what I get for not playing over there much...

On the PPD limit.  What makes the ISC special from say, the Gorn, is the PPD and I-torp.  With a 1 PPD-ship limit (typically the flagship, which will wind up being a DNx, CCx, or CSx under the most experienced / best pilots control), the other 2 ISC pilots (like me) will, in all of their pre-Z refit missions, be stuck in what is effectively Gorn ships with wierd phaser arcs (no PPD or Pl-I), and no bigger than a CL, unless they want a G-torp only CA...  Basically, my thought, the ISC should be allowed a 1 PPD-mount ship (CAx or CMx) to escort a 2 PPD-mount ship (like the CCx or CSx), and spread the PPD wealth around both the squadron and players easier...  I was thinking about finding a way to let a 5-PPD squadron (DNx with CAx / CMx) exist, but there's really no situation where a DN / CA / CL squadron could not be filled by a DNT / CCZ / CAY / CLZ squadron.  And Corbo, as I haven't tried this, how well does the 3xG-torp I-CAW stack up to the late-era CAs, like plasma boats which commonly has 2xPl-S and 2xPl-F?

I still feel the PPD should be stepped by hull size as I listed in the other thread. That way more flexibility is gained and still keeps them in check.

Whether you feel like a funny Gorn or not is not the point. Plasma is still a primary HW for the ISC and pilots need to know how to fly that as well as PPD ships. One of my favorite ships is the CLZ.

As far as the CAW in late era - it could probably hang in there because of it's power curve and Phaser array, but is limited by the G-Torps a bit. The good thing is it can carry 2-3 Envelopers and still go at a decent clip so if it grabs you say bye bye to your shields. Two of them together or one with a CLZ would be a pretty good set up depending on who you are fighting.

I thought the Forum registration wasn't integrated with the GZ league registration. That is it is handled as a separate account in a different system.

Diehard and Corbo - so for some odd reason, it seems as if it won't let you register.  FPF-Bach and FPF-Jem had no problems, so it can't be the '-'.

I really don't understand why it wouldn't log you on with the one I created for you DH....that was at least registered

I've updated the Rules and Matrices....yet again.  The original Links are still good (I am getting better at this web page uploading stuff)

First, I had to include the recent decsion on how to handle the X1 ships (late era X ships).  Firstly, we weren't going to allow advanced era matches, to get out of the X2 ships.  So to fill that gap, and provide some differentiation among the late era ships we decided to restrict the use of the X1 to advanced era matches.  Let me know if that doesn't make sense.

Then there was the BCH/DN sized PFT's that were discussed in this thread.  They've all been flagged and going forward will count as both a Command and Combat Support Vessels.  It's a bit of a lazy, part way solution - but I don't want to over engineer anything without good cause.
