The Persuasion class is a very capable destroyer. It was designed specifically to lay mine fields in the path of an approaching  enemy armada. For that reason, the majority of its fire power is facing aft. Allowing  it to fire at pursuing vessels while continuing to lay mines. This ship has great escapability and is fast enough to also act as a scout ship. Only 25 were produced during the initial production phase. If these ships perform as expected they will be scheduled for further production pending available resources.

your pylon and nacelle textures nead some serious work. The saucer looks absolutly grand, then the rest looks horrid. Aside from that the overal shape looks  decent.

Well My new policy is I don't release it unless it looks ok all over. So I'll hang onto it unless someone would fix the textures for me. See I made this 2 years ago and no longer model. This is 1 of about 5 ships of mine that got nothing but flames 2 years ago and part of the reason I don't do Feds at all anymore.


EDIT-Hey SF2, what is it about the nacel textures you don't like? Is it the dark brown color? Cause honestly they don't seem that bad to me. I could ajust the dark brown, that wouldn't take long. Perhaps it contrasts the beige of the saucer too much. I admit the strut textures are stretched, but that is a mapping issue.
I also find it curious that its the people that don't texture that find the greatest fault with ships.

Thanks for the kind words guys. Just like to clarify that I don't consider this my design. All ST designs are based off of Star Trek. The saucer textures are based off of Hobbes Diligent. There is where the credit lies. The only part of the design that is mine in any way would be the placement of the struts and nacels.

I spend my time  doing game mods so don't have time to upgrade the textures.

I like how first my  opinion is worthless because I can't texture and then you want to know why I hate the nacelles. Illogical. Then people wonder why I simply say "it sucks".   I waste my time  trying to  make a decent comment and get rammed up the arse for it anyways. I'll save my self  the extra typing on the next ship and summarise with "sucks" from now on. Oh well,  I suppose I shouldn't  be taking the post of a guest too seriously.

In your PM to me you say all my stuff is worthless and tell me to lern to model. Clearly then you are not trying to improve my model by giving advice. You are simply flaming it as you have in the past. I kindly ask that if you find no value in my work. Then do not call it horrid. Try to be a bigger person and just find another model you like better.

Please do not flame my models any further. You have offered nothing constructive here and your PM to me is abusive in tone. If it persists I will send all posts to the moderators here and see what they think about it.


Oh and 1 other thing. Lets see your work posted. If you spent hours on a project, you can't tell me that you wouldn't mind people saying it sucks. I mean doesn't that seem rude even if its the truth?

So you  must be red green then. PM'ing me under one name and posting as guest. Well, then that explains the content of that message. My response was simply throwing back at ya. Seemingly out of the blue , telling me where not to post and giving me crap about not nowing how to give criticism,  what kind of response were you expecting to have PM'd back to  you? Thats just as bad as what you are accusing  me of if you want  to be technical about it. I seem to remeber you once complaining that you never got enough attn concernign your posts (meaning views, no or little responses). Now, regarless  of  my opinion of you, the opinion I gave above of the model remains the same. I saw nothing wrong with the comment I made above,  I though it was perfectly  constructive. I didn't say it sucked, I mentioned a specific detail on where it needed improvment along with what I though was good about it. This ship  is actualy decent.

Well thanks for the compliment then   Geez sorry I took your compliment the wrong way     Your style of writing I find annoying. What you said is like complimenting a person by saying there hair looks nice but they are a fat slob.
People won't even here the 1st part.

However I have changed my position on this whole thing. I no longer give a crap. See I used to try to get models better from peoples input. However I do this for free so I feel the model as pictured is good enough to be released as it is free to those that don't think badly of it.

In short I am not changing a dam thing on it. If you like the design but want a better model consider hiring a professional.

Also playing the I didn't know it was you ploy is lame as Hobbes Saucer design is distintive and I know you have seen it on 5 of my ships, cause you posted in them all about 2 years ago.

Ok well I made this mesh 2 years ago so I made it sleeker and the seems look better. Did this all in mod format as I don't have this particular ship in milkshape. Was a bash of a bash of a bash.

Once again the saucer texture design is Hobbes. Though I did the textures my self.  The lightmaps don't match yet.

If all goes according to plan. It will be appearing in a mod for SFC2 down the road.  It will be in an SFC3 mod shortly.

i dont suppose i could get a copy of her early to have a go at giving her a face lift texture wise i can also have ago at aligning the light maps as i need something to do while FoaS works on my replacement Saucer Textures for my Titan

I posted a temporary link for it in your PM box. I updated the lightmaps but if you give it a facelift it will need new ones I imagine. Thanks man looking forward to seeing the results.
