'Get In The Game' Sweepstakes Begins August 24


    LOS ANGELES, Aug. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- MGM Consumer Products and
Interactive, a unit of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Studios Inc. (NYSE: MGM) announced
today the launch of the Stargate SG-1 "Get In The Game" sweepstakes.  This one
of a kind opportunity offers Stargate SG-1 fans the chance to have his or her
likenesses scanned and used as one of the characters in the first Stargate
SG-1 video game.
    To participate in the sweepstakes, participants need to register at
http://www.mgm.com/contest.do between August 24 and September 24, 2004, 12:00 a.m.
PDT.  A random drawing will take place on September 27, and the winner will be
announced by e-mail.
    "Stargate SG-1's overwhelming success is due to the never-ending devotion
of our loyal fan base," said, Neil Haldar, Vice President, Production and
Business Development, MGM Interactive.  "We are thrilled to offer the chance
for a Stargate SG-1 devotee to literally 'Get In The Game' and hold a place in
the interactive chronicles of the series."
    The Stargate SG-1 video game will feature all the excitement of the
Stargate SG-1 TV series.  Players will have the option to take the role of one
of four main characters as they battle with enemies and a new mysterious
ancient evil.  The new Stargate SG-1 video game will be available at retail
beginning Holiday 2005, and will be formatted for Sony PlayStation(R)2,
Microsoft(R) Xbox(TM), and PC.

I wonder if some of the animation from the recent episode avatar is going to be used, or is already used, in that game.
Only in America .....do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.
