I have finally found the game that will only run in DOS.

Kick ass! I had that game on my Amiga 1000, lol! Only runs in DOS? Crap, will XP Home run it in compatability mode? I think it might, I can run Ultima IV, but it runs really fast, lol. (No turbo button to turn off anymore) but since StarFleet I is a TURN BASED GAME  the speed shouldnt matter.

Ill have to try it. LOL, I might have to goto a used computer store and buy me a working DOS box for a coupla bucks just to run this bad boy, I LOVED that game, spent HOURS on it.

I had an amiga 1000 too, hehe. I got hooked on that battletech home - garage built and distributed version... But I never saw that one.

LOL the manual DL is like 200x bigger than the game itself.

(I sent ya the game Dizzy as a pre apology for your demise on GW3, 20MB manual's a little big for me to mail you though  )

If anyone can figure out how to run it,  post it here.

reason is, it is looking for a floppy disk when the .exe is double clicked.

i will experiment w/ the floppy disks to see what works and not works.

AJTK, i have tried to run in WinXP Pro,(laptop) under win95 compatibility mode, no dice.

but what i AM going to do is install win98 on my desktop syst and see if that works.

otherwise, you will need to have a DOS syst. good luck

Extract all the files and click on "begin". I'm running XP pro and thats all I did.
I didn't set it up to run and compatibility mode and it seems to work fine.
(Although I'm really going to need to download the manual)

I remember that game...talk about old-school...I think the last time I played that (or an earlier version of it) was the late 80's...
