Couple of WIP's (Image Intensive)
« on: August 15, 2004, 07:29:05 am »
Whoo! Finally starting to work my way thru my huge-ass list of requests, so i thought i would show a few pics off before i finish them (urggh i hate hardpointing) I'll add pics of more ships to this thread as i get them done.

Please note, i will NOT be releasing any of these without permissions sorted first, so if you see parts from your work here, dont worry, i will not release without your say so first With that in mind, i am seriously lacking in ReadMe's in some ship zips, so if you do see your work here, please shout out so i can ask you for permission to use, one of the reasons im posting these pics is to help with finding the original authors of the parts used.

On with the ships! First up: A FASA Durrett Class - there are several of these floating around, but the request specifically asked for the P-81/D2 pack miranda to be used as a base...so using parts from the existing durrett (By Terradyhne i belive? Anyone confirm? and the miranda, i 'bashed up this:

(Use scrollbar at bottom of post if pics are slightly off-screen - looks like i should make the pics smaller!)

Secondly, i am in the process of 'bashing up a Miranda/Excelsior Hybrid...the backstory for this ship is that a Miranda hull was used as a component/development testbed for the new Excelsior:

Any these ships are not quite finished yet, the registry's etc will need to be changed and hardpoints/LODs etc added (these will be for SFC2/OP) but thought i would spam you with some pics in the meantime since im bored  ;D I have a couple of other ship WIP's that i will post pics of somewhen too,

You might want to use the Higher-Res and Higher-Poly Excelsior for that second ship, it adds a lot more quality to kitbashes.

Nice, I beleive that P81 has given blanket permission to kitbash his models. He's cool about that. Just give credit in a readme file.

That Miranda/Excelsior combo is awsome.  Please release them soon.  I already have plans for them.

Thanks gents, i agree about the low poly excelsior saucer, but the gent who requested the 'bash needed it kept low-poly. I may do a higher poly version somewhen, but got lots of other requests to finish first. I should be finishing her up with hardpoints and LODs by the end of this week.

Ahh so it WAS from your Durrett Terra! I had a feeling it was but wanted to check, is it ok to release the models (part of it is in the excelsior mix too) with your work in it for SFC2/OP? Full Credits given of course.

And a quick preview of some other stuff in the works while im here (also needing permissions sorted, especially for the Klingon ship)  ;D

Cool! That Durrett needs to be added to my TMP FASA Trek to SFC collection.

If you are taking kitbash requests, how about making a version of the destroyer companion of Anarion's Churchill class as seen in the upper left of GALLERY pic #6:

http://users.adelphia.net/~anarion/Churchill/churchill/Main.html

The only headach might be placing the deflector dish on the bottom of the saucer. I'd love to see a Chandley Class made this way too.

Man, I hope you get the Larson and Locknar done soon!

The models I am using are looking a bit long in the tooth, and your renditions look EXCELLENT!
