EAW Campaigns for OP: Updated
« on: March 05, 2003, 07:21:29 pm »
I've just finished replaying the SFC:EAW single-player campaigns under OP. ..

Namely:

  • Empires Vs ISC

  • Mirak Vs Lyran (War of Return)

  • ISC War of Pacification  (ISC Vs Empires)

..  what does that mean? Oh. .. I was fixing the problems and bugs as I went along. The updated package is at:
 http://klingon.stasis.ca/EAW_missions/EAW_campaigns_for_OP-20030303.zip

Also, I've posted an archive of the updated Sources  (set in an OP build environment.. ):

Fixed missions:

  • Uni_1Desecration.scr

  • Uni_7Gates.scr

  • Uni_9Edge.scr

Thank you Firesoul!

Not much point in having great looking ships with no missions to play them in.

How is your project coming along?

*plays the 0303 missions with fixed battle at grave of thoughts*

Yay. Neeto.

Any chance the firing error in Orion Moon will be updated? The planet isn't becoming vulnerable when it launches ships, still.

I haven't hit that mission while I played. .. so I guess it means I haven't reviewed it.
*sigh* .. let's see..

Arrrh-HEM!

It works for me. The moon becomes vulnerable for 0.5 turns, which means about 15 secs at Speed 8. If you miss the opportunity, then you have to kill another ship.

15 seconds at speed 8?!

Hmm. I /know/ I've dumped full weapons into the planet within 15 seconds, at speed 8.  Hell, I had the fighters kill the ship, simply so I /could/ do it within 15 seconds. Or hell, within -5- seconds..

And its never once worked. I can't beam to it even then

I'll try it again in OP, the current EAW version did the same thing tho.

*plays it again, and wins*

Hmm. This time I destroyed the ori myself, before using other weapons to fire on the planet. That worked. Go fig...

That isn't Orion Moon, that is "the Pyre". You have to scan the planet to get the location of the ammo dump before you beam the bomb in.

I know what I reported before about" Battle at the Grave of Thoughts" (OP, Fed), but I just played it again and the replacement cruisers never showed. The rescue ships came right on time however. Is this a one time glitch or does it need to be tweaked some more?

Thanks for all your hard work on this.

I worked hard on BatGot, and I can assure you that it worked for every time I played it... that must've been about 8-10 times.

.. what version of it do you have? From my latest release?
Note: BatGot requires the standard shiplist (or OP+).

Are you telling me that I can't have any additional ships in the shiplist besides yours. If that is true, than look no further because I had added a F-BCE refit and was using it for this battle. This ship has provided me with great service other wise. I will replay it with a stock ship out of your stock + list.
I don't know which version I have except I got it right after You fixed it. I am planning on ripping OP out and rebuilding from scratch with all of your projects once the patch comes out.
Would it be possible to retain all of the stock Taldren scripts along with the EAW scripts and the modified scripts from Dave in one large .mct. This way we would have access to all of the possible missions. I have played many of Dave's missions  (and a great addition they are) in a Fed-ISC campaign but I didn't see any stock scripts.
Thank you again

No.. I'm saying the game uses specific ships for the ally.
As per the code:
Code:

   switch ( allyRace )
   {
   case kFederation:
      {
         mCreateShip(   typeid( tAllyShip ), "F-BCG", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip(   typeid( tAllyShip ), "F-BCJ", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;

   case kKlingon:
      {
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "K-D6D", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "K-D7C", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;

   case kRomulan:
      {
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "R-K7R", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "R-KCR", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;

   case kLyran:
      {
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "L-BC", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "L-BCPP", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;

   case kGorn:
      {
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "G-BC", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "G-BCH", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;

   case kHydran:
      {
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "H-OV", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "H-D7H", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;

   case kMirak:
      {
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "Z-BCH", kStartPosition_H, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip1, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
         mCreateShip( typeid( tAllyShip ), "Z-BC", kStartPosition_I, kNoMetaShipID,
                     kAllyShip2, 0, 0, -1, -1, NULL, kDefaultShipOptions );
      }
      break;
   }
}

So look closely.. .. in the case of Federation, the ships "F-BCG" and "F-BCJ" are being used. Of course, they have to be present in the shiplist. That's what I meant by original shiplist..
.. what if you were using a hacked up shiplist where these ships were missing?

-- Luc
PS: used the most recent version?

Change thatt to "recommend". I included my OP+ because it includes all of the standard shiplist within itself.

I have not deleted any ships from any of my lists. I had F-BCJ and aF-BCG as my initial escorts. I was flying a F-BCER. I have the film from this battle saved. Would you like to have a copy?
Also note I changed my earlier post while you were responding to it. I did not realize you would respond so quickly.

Yeah well.. I'm bored.

Ok.. in SFC:OP, I've noticed that sometimes the ally race chosen is a pirate race, which completely screws things up as far as this mission goes. If you want, download my latest SFC:OP version, just the script itself, from  http://klingon.stasis.ca/EAW_missions/

.. let me know if that worked? It's the same as in the latest package..
