At the risk of hijacking, could I request:

the time portal from "City on the Edge of Forever"?

It looks like you guys would do an excellent job on it!

Is it for SFC?

Yeah, one with no readme.

Here's why I want it. Scenery type models do have a place in a dyna. Easily added to a mission, they truly enhance the SFC and mission experience. In my new dyna, I plan on using a few.

Now the problem with this one... is that it has WAY too many polies. Dunno how many, but I have a decent rig and Im pulling only 45 fps. Should see 145 fps.

What would make this model even cooler is to stick an SG-1 type stargate effect in the middle of it. This would create interesting LoS visual situations... And look cool as well.

Here are 2x screens one showing the polys. I hear there is a poly reducer program. Could it be made to work mb?

I can try making a Jumpgate, but be warned its going to be of a slight FoaS persuation.

A cool effect to try with a gate like that would be to mimic Lord Bile's old B'Lorian Wromhole Generator.

I think that was the first wormhole/gate thing anyone ever made for SFC.

I'd love to see how that one turns out :)

The effect is to be able to fly and fight inside and out of it. If you look at the Distance meter, you will see just how large it really is. In fact, this one is too large. There is another about half the size which is probably better.

I already have that in .mod, but its got a few thousand too many polys. Thats the problem. Unless you have the latest rig it will slow you game to a halt. Forget about flying with missiles and fightyers let alone more than 2 ships, the poly count on that .mod jump gate is horrendous.

Was asking fury or anyone else if they know of a poly reducer/streamliner program...

I have a poly reducing program.  Bought it for game development use.  What do you need crunched?  (My jumpgate has WAY too many polys - 24K - will be crunched to 3000 - 5000 or so)
