The Go'auld have impersonated the egyption, celtic, chinese and african gods that I can recall.  The Asgaard have the Norse mythology.

Well lets see there have been so far

Egyptian
Amonet, Anubis, Apophis, Bastet, Hathor, Heru-ur, Imhotep, Klorel, Osiris, Ra, Seth, and Sokar

Greek(Chronos), Chinese(Yu), India_Hindu(Nurrti), Asian_Hindu(Kali), African(Olokun), Celtic(Morrigan), Slavic(Svarog), Mesopotamian(Marduk), Judaic(Baal).

There were a few others but don't know if they portrayed mythological gods or not.

Ra, Apophis, Anubis, Hathor, Heru-ur, Chronos are dead for certain.  Osiris was de-go'aulded.

I can't recollect which others are dead.

That was Nurrti

Pretty much all of the egyptian ones are dead except Bastet.  She appeared in the episode "Summit", the one where all the goauld system lords meet and vote to let anubis back in there ranks.

Nurrti, Chronos, and Marduk are dead.  Yu is going senile(sp?) due to extreme old age and inability to change hosts.  Kali, Olokun, Morrigan, Svarog only appeared in the episode "Summit" that I know of.  I assume they are still around.  Baal is still alive.  He is the main bad guy for SG-1 and the SGC since Anubis is no more.

Oops forgot about Camulus.  He just came on seen recently but he was turned over to Baal so he is probably no more.

Actually, my wife is of the mind that Camulus was actually plotting with Baal and hadn't really requested asylum.  Her thought is that it was part of the plot to have the SGC blown up by the booby trapped ZPM.

I never thought of it that way, but even if that is the case he failed and didn't get the tainted ZPM back.  I don't think Baal is the kind to look kindly on failure.

That also reminds me there is another Goauld that showed up in Season 8 ep 1 with Yu and Camulus to negoitiate with the SGC but I can't remember her name.  I think she was a Japanese god.

Her name was Amaterasu.

You'd think I would have the IMDB entry for Stargate bookmarked.  Yet strangely I don't.

Which is a Japanese kami. The Sun goddess actually. Her parents were the celestial deities, Izanagi and Izanami, and one of her decendents, Jimmu Tenno, was the first Emperor.

The Gods are one thing I really like about SG1.  The fact that instead of making up imaginary beings as the bad guys they have taken the various mythologies and used them as the bad guys on earth.

One does have to wonder exactly how that many of the Go'auld actually were able to live on earth long enough to enter our collective conscious since they have one hell of a time getting along now.

No they didn't which is why they had to develop the custom computer hardware/software to function as a DHD.

Actually, the Nazis, no not the Bush supporters, found the DHD in Egypt before the War. The Russians then found the DHD in storage somewhere in Germany when they took over the eastern half of the country. They didn't know what it was of course. This is mentioned in Watergate. When the Russians recovered the original ge at the bottom of the ocean from the wreckage of the Asgard ship, they were able to connect the gate and the DHD and get it working.

As a side note, I thought I had been taping the shows for the last few weeks at my dad's, but when I got the tape yesterday to watch them, I found out I must have put the wrong time on tihe timer. I guess I won't be seeing eps. 3-5 of this year for a while. And I need to get out there to correct the timer. Bummer.
