Same router I have (I think), I'm lazy so I work in the DMZ with a software firewall.

?

DMZ, you place the IP address of you gamin computer in the DMZ and it is no longer behind the router's firewall.

Have you been able to get into the configuration page of your router?  it should be accessable from a web browser.

You need to access the configuration page like DH said through your web browser.  This is done using the IP number that should be given to you in the user manual or a setup guide the may have come with the router.  You will most likely have to input a password, the default PW should be in the documentation along with the IP number.

Next you need to open/forword certain ports in order for you to be able to access the D2 and play Gamespy and IP games.

I have a LinkSys router so the exact details may not be the same.  Basically you need to forward ports 2300-2400 TCP & UDP, 47624-47624 TCP & UDP and 6073-6073 TCP & UDP.  These will allow you to play on the Dyna, Gamespy and direct IP games.  You will not however be able to host  GameSpy or direct IP games unless you put that computer into the DMZ like DH said.

Hope this helps some.

Frank, if you allready have a firewall software program, an easy fix is to configure your router to run in DMZ mode. And There are plenty of free firewalls, such as ZoneAlarm if you need one.

Enter it's IP address into the browser's address field.   Should be you default gateway which you can get be running ipconfig /all from a command prompt.

First off you need to fill the empty boxes, when a port range for example is 47624 you need to have that number in both boxes so it would basically be port 47624-47624.

Check this link and Look at the image Kroma placed in this thread and you'll see what I mean.

http://www.dynaverse.net/forum/index.php/topic,163345054.0.html

You also need to make sure that you are using the correct IP for the computer you are trying to use for gaming.  Go the the command prompt and type ipconfig to see what the IP for the specific computer you are using is then make sure that IP number coincides with the ports you are forwarding.  On my router setup page that is off to the right I can't see all of yours in the image you posted so I'm not sure if the setup is exactly the same.

Keep trying you'll get it.

IN the IP address field you have to put the IP address of the computer you are gaming with in there.

Do that by typing ipconfig to obtain your internal IP address at a C: or command prompt.

Then you should be able to access the D2 directory of servers and then should be able to play, draft and be drafted.

Now that sounds great!

However, now I shall be out of town for the next two weekends!!!

And no time for the weekdays as I am in a Macromedia Director class for the next two weeks!

Well, it's a good thing.
