U.S.S. Republic - Refit Constitution Class
« on: August 09, 2004, 09:06:18 pm »
Yes, another one of these damn things. Technically, this is an older version of the Valiant which was released back in 2002. It's different enough from the Valiant though, so I felt it could be it's own ship. I made a few changes and re-posted it on DRS as a separate download.

Nice hybrid-looking ship; kind of reminds me of TMP, TOS, and that aborted version of the Big E that never made it to the screen.

The Valiant I downloaded off your site awhile back looks just like that.  Strangly enough all the pictures had shown a different ship.

Wait.  You have reinstated the earlier Valiant, altered the textures of the later Valiant and renamed it.  The new textures look alot better now.  More muted and a lot cooler.

I see the phaser arrays are no longer almost all the way around the saucer, but more in the manner as they are on an Ambassador.  Nice touch.  :-D  I like it.  One comment though, if I may be so bold.  The older Valiant model, when in game, looks a bit small compared to the other ships in me game, whereas the newer version of the Valiant is better in size when compared to the other ships in my game.  Not sure if anyone else had ever reported this before.  I was just wondering if this problem might have been fixed.  I love this ship and am glad she's back online again.

Both the Valiant and the Republic are scaled identically, at least the 2 currently on DRS. The older version of the "Republic" was slightly larger than my current Connie and it's variants and needed some adjustment.

That's good enough for me!!!  I can't wait to install her into my game.  Any other Fed ships in the works if I may ask?
