Edit: Posted edited with new URLs.
Please note that a bandwidth limiter has been put into effect. (30kb/sec)  This will help Frey and these boards a *lot*. The bittorrents are far quicker, and anyone can help with the upload of the files to others.

Just out of curiosity: when you programmed in the automatic detection and modification of ships whose properties did not make sense (as described in the "new changes for this version text file"), how many ships were corrected if you remember?

The new models look great, by the way.

Hi again.

I have made changes to the 'how' OP+ 3.4 is downloaded. I have updated the first post of this thread.

The new speed limits are : 30KB/sec for the downloads. The bittorrents are locked to 60KB/sec max per connection (4 max). Please use BT. ;)

Why?

.. because the bandwidth to those is provided by Frey. In fact, it's the same bandwidth as what these boards need to get to your browser. A limit needed to be set as I don't want to abuse his generosity.

Sometimes takes a second or two for weapon to fire after I press a key. I tried a completely fresh sfc install, but got the same thing. Perhaps I should try a freshh download?

Rear firing weapon, I imagine. They tend to do that, specially a volley of plasma I.

I haven't been keeping track, but it seems like port side phasers. I seem to notice this when trying to fire on someone in forward port.

Oh, I did find one that didn't make sense.  The Lyran SBZ entered service in 999?

It's a special SFC1 unit, or something of the sort. It's not a unit that exists in SFB.. and I have left it at 999, well alone.

Well, I installed the download there was, but when I went to log on to the test server, I was told I was missing mission files. I can do a clean reinstall of everything and try again.........

Well, I installed the download there was, but when I went to log on to the test server, I was told I was missing mission files. I can do a clean reinstall of everything and try again.........

Test server? That's not about stock files..


Okay now I'm confused. Does the test server for GW3 have a mission pack I am lacking? If so, where can I find them. Not meaning to be a pain, but I don't usually have much trouble getting on board with these.

I was just looking at the K-E3Y and noticed some oddities, I don't know if they are from SFB or if they are the results of editing.

Compared to other E3 hulls:

1/ Greatly reduced crew
2/ Only 1 boarding party min and max - just asking to be captured
3/ Removed 1 APR
4/ Reduced Phaser arcs
5/ Photons don't go in the same mounts as the disruptors that they replace.  Disruptors are single mounted on the wings.  Photons are in a dual centerline mount.  This ship can't afford the power to overload both and can't even turn off one to conserve power.  It really needs the photons on separate mounts.
6/ It has 10 center warp no left/right warp.  The other E3 hulls have no center and 5 left/right
7/ The E3Y changes battery to 2 from 1 for other models
8/ Explosion strength reduced to 6 from 7
9/ Acceleration increased from 10 to 15
10/ Damage control reduced to 3 from 4

I am using your shiplist as the basis of a personal one that my nephews will be able to play.  They will have a few "surprises" in wait for them.  :)

I will be looking closely at all the Klingon cloaking / photon ships.

The E3Y isn't from SFB but is a Taldren creation based on the Bird of Prey from Star Trek movies (think III). That explains it's nose-based heavies, minimalistic crew and installed cloaking device. Just as the F-BCE Excelsior with it's DNL movement cost isn't in SFB.

I think that the E3Y should be marked as unboardable like a PF unless it is given more BPs (it may be, I don't know how to tell from the file and have not been able to arrange a test).  The 2 photons on one mount severely cripple the ship, it needs to be separated.

SFC has a (small) number of ships that are not really from Star Fleet Battles.

The ones I know about are:
   The Fed CAI
   The Fed MCM (Miranda) => Reliant with 4 FA/RA photons =>yowza!
   The Fed BCE
   The Klingon Ktinga (D7T?)
   All the Klingon "Y" ships ( F5Y, D6Y etc) which are basically stock ships with cloak added.

I think (based on no information whatsoever) that these ships were added to mimic what was seen in the movies. Note that none of the added fed ships have either drones or ADD's.

The only one I regularly play is the Fed CAI. I have also created a CAI+, which adds a plus refit with G rack and a pair of P3s.
