In the meantime you can get all dave's current missions in a single installer here (much smaller too):

They are the latest ED missions as an lzma compressed installer. (same missions you'd get from the sfcx mirror zip files). They are being used for the GW3 test, yes, but are the same missions you'll find in the larger zip files. The missions in the installer will allow you on to the Gravity Well, or any other server using NW's latest missions, not just GW3.

Yes, SFCx is down. The server is suffering from two possible issue but one of them is a possible hack. I'm investigating further.

I expect that SFCx will be down a few days till I get to the bottom of things but it will be back up eventually.

They are indeed the same as NW's latest. That .EXE was a demo for NW, showing that not only an installer provides easier use for the end-user, it also provides more compression than a standard .ZIP and is a fraction of the size of the .ZIP. (1/5th in this case)

I'm hoping to have converted NW.
