Yep, I finally forced myself to list my guitar. It is a sad day but I can't keep putting it off. I did follow some of your advice so thanks for all your input.

Well, I have acouple of bids already and I even got an email from someone asking what it would take for me to end the auction early and sell it to them. Should I even respond to this email or should I report it as a footer on the email states that this kind of thing violates the ebay policies for bidding and winning an item the regular way?

It's a scam. Politely inform the B/ that he's welcome to bid on the auction along with the rest of the world and then forward the message to eBay.

Do what Barabbas said..I actually had to file my first fraud report on a bozo who took my money, but didn't deliver....

I politely told him that I don't want to piss off ebay by not following the rules. I did check his name for the feedback and as he said, he did have perfect positive feedback.

But if he convinces people to end their auctions and sell directly, they wouldn't be able to leave feedback.....

True. But he does have over 200, I think, positive feedback items. From both buyers and sellers. As I sad earlier though, I'm still not going to do it that way.

I figured that people would be much more inclined to believe in the autograph if I put that picture on it.

Actually, I wanted the pic for myself as proof that it was autographed. I have had the guitar for at least 6 years and have been waiting or him to come ack to the area just so I could get that autograph on this guitar. I have naother, cheaper model that he has signed twice that I am keeping. At least for now.

He was here in Omaha 6 years ago or so...someone stole his casual boots from his dressing room..he probably won't come back..there was a $2500 reward for them...I guess he liked the a lot.....

He has also had someone steal his "Pearly" chrome guitar (he had two for quite a while). There was a reward for that with no questions asked.

I think I may have two people trying to out bid each other. That could be a good thing.

Up to $2225 as of 1617 today. Sssssssshhhhhhhh!!!!! That is just about what I paid for it.

At this rate it ought to pass the $2500 reserve by tomorrow morning. I hope it climbs steadily like this and then spikes during the last few hours.

I was kind of wondering if it was you that got it moving again. pmelmike? Did you win the Powerball?

I have had a couple of people state, one in particular, that they are going to win this auction. And to be honest, I have told a couple the reserve price. I don't know if that is good or bad but I personally feel that some peole may be more willing to bid if they know that the reserve is actually attainable. I do say that I am hoping that the price will end up quite bit higher than that.

no, hit the powerball # (21), and had an extra white ball, good for about $5...but somebody looks interested if the next minimum bid is $2400...and I have been known to get serious at the end of a bid...3 more days...I know we're all wishing you well (or you make a quick trip to MI and win thier lottery)

I actually exchanged a few emails with one guy who had a question. He has collected a number of Satriani guitars. He already has one like mine but wants a better one. He also has one of the clear acrylic Crystal Planet JS guitars. He sent a couple of pics. The guitar, as I said, is clear and the wire wraps and the pickup rings glow in the dark. Here is one of the pics he sent.

Dang, never saw one like that....well, if he's serious, he'll bid...but as I've said, most of the serious bidding comes in the last day, especially if the reserve is met...guitars like yours don't devaluate unless they're abused (and even then, ever look at a '50's Chet Atkin's guitar, with dings and everything)

Aaaaahhhhhh!!! Less than two days left and the bidding has all but stopped. I wish someone would tip the bidding over the reserve and start the bid war. I guess I shot myself in the foot somewhat. I didin't want people to think I set the reserve at an insane level and now they seem to be waiting until the last minute to take the bid past the reserve in order to keep the price down. Congrats.....I've been busy cleaning my gutters today while my wife went to a quilt auction supporting the local church camp (Igot the credit card before she left...just gave her what I thought we needed)...I'll go look, but unless the power ball comes through, I won't be bidding

Well, I have had at least three people try to get me to sell it early. The last two were really pestering me, and they were from Indonesia, so I turned them in today. heh, the first onegave me an address to find out the shipping charges. After I politely turned him down, for the 3rd time, I got a note rom someone else asking the same thing. Guess what. it was from almost the same location, same city and everything. The only diference was the zip code. i thought that was extremely suspicious. So I turned them both in.

BTW, that was a good thing to snag the credit card before she left.

Yeah, it's after 4 and she's not home yet...I'm supposed to be at church @ 4:30 to play...looks like I won't make it as the other car blew an engine last week (and I was saving to buy a guitar...)...I don't let the small stuff get me down...It's up to 3K...it will go higher..and you can pop over to PA and get a ticket..don;t they have a lottery? or is it W. As Mike said make sure you get the payment, check cashed and cleared, before you send off the guitar. I know it's a sad day in Jualdeaux-ville but now as least you can buy a new toy or two!
