If I remember . .  its been almost 25yrs since Battle of the Planets aired on TV around here . . . but some of those Mecha Monsters like the one in the first picture would make really cool "alien" monsters sorta like the  Doomsday Machine or Juggernaut. .  lost weapons from other galaxies or ancient weapons of a vanished civilization re-awakened.

Think of a mission your ship is called in to a sector, a garbled distress call a missing sciene vessel . . fast forward to the scenario, that small moon is mostly rumble and there is a Mecha Monster feeding on ? asteroids? space rift? something . .

I remember this show as "The G-Force" it was big at lunchtime when I was in grade two...  8)
