Try reading the troubleshooting steps listed in the SFC 3 Readme v534.rtf file located in your C:\Program Files\Activision\SFC3 game folder.. it lists several things you can do to where it will make SFC 3 play correctly.
Readme files have that effect.. I also listed it as install Instruction #9 in the official patching post... Did you not follow all the instructions?
Please take time and check out the file.. I didn't include it and make reference to the file in the install instructions for people to ignore it.. i included the file, which took me over 2 hours to make (going over all my notes on SFC 3) just to keep posting the information over and over and over again...
Sorry if i sound harsh... but i get emails like this all the time and the usual response is that "I didn't realize that it contained that file" when they know plain well that the file pops up at the end of patch install.. i did that so that people can take time to read what is available in SFC 3 and not ask the same questions over and over..
the simple answer to what you are asking is :
1) Are you updated with Direct X 9.0b? Did you install a older version of DirectX on your system? if so, your Direct X is corrupt and you will need to re-download Direct X 9.0b and reinstall it.
2) Is Disable Visual Themes checked in the properties of the SFC 3 shortcut in the compatibility tab?
3) Are your videocard drivers up to date and / or does your system meet the minimum requirements of playing SFC 3 (as listed in the SFC 3 Readmev534.rtf)?
those are the things off the top of my head.. the Readme file covers these items a bit more deeply...
again, sorry if i come across a bit harsh.. but I get this in emails and PM's all the time and it just irks me that no one can follow 9 simple install instructions that will get their game working correctly.
