I also used reference material from Daystrom as you have.And since you have pointed out all the size discepancies it works to my advantage so I think I'll set my Klingon BOP/B'rel varients up like this.......

BOP- TMP Era Scout
D32- X ship TMP Era
B'rel- Late TMP Heavy Cruiser (Excelsior contemporary)
Insurrection Class (Terradyhne )- (Ambassador Era)
W'ked Class BOP (WZ45)- X Ship TNG Era
K'Vort - TNG Heavy Cruiser
D'Tai   - TNG Battlecruiser
And I still have plenty 'o room for all my other Klinks
