Command/Challenge Coins
« on: July 15, 2004, 04:41:08 pm »
I just got one of these from my brother S'Raek who is stationed in Sicily. It is pretty cool.

Anyway, I was wondering if ay of you in the military have any and where are they from.
Only in America .....do we use the word 'politics' to describe the process so well: 'Poli' in Latin meaning 'many' and 'tics' meaning 'bloodsucking creatures'.

Command Coins?

I only got 2- one from the 118th Military Police Brigade for service in Iraq and another from the Iraqi Survey Group, that one will be my pride and joy for years to come, there are only about 1500 of them (all numbered) and my little Nat'l Guard company got 90 of them.

I have one from Command Chief Master Sgt Fusco, formerly of the Nevada F-15 wing.  He was the 'runner-up' for Command Chief of the Air Force, and now is in training (or maybe he already graduated? I'm not sure) to be a US Marshall.

In all, they're pretty awesome.

I have one for STRATCOM here at Offutt, and one from AFMETCAL (the Air Force Primary Standards Laboratory)...a few squadron coins (my favorite, RAF Croughton..who else has a sheep on a coin?).  They were fun to collect, but sometimes they cost as they were used as fundraisers.

I have several othe coins but, they aren't really command coins but sit on my desk at work along with the ones said above.
