Will we see a german version of the patch or can does does the us/uk patch works with the german version also?

The only difference in the US/UK patch and the German version game is the language in the scripts and thesound files..

In order for German Players to join the more popular mods, they will need the US/UK version of the patch as the German Version scripts do not work with US/UK Scripts (invalid CRC Check).. Also mixing of English based scripts and German based scripts causes the SFC 3 game to crash...

As such, I am currently looking for someone who can recompile the SFC 3 scripts based off the last AIP release in German Language.. DF has done many of them, however there remains 5 scripts in the US/UK language and as such will cause the German version to lock up, so I have not compiled a German patch as of yet until I can get the scripts redone so that the German Version of the scripts will not interfere with the operation of the game.

Anyone volunteering to do this, Please just send me a finished copy of the rebuilt scripts.. The scripts must be operating Identical to the v534 patch scripts without improvement or additions to the original script...

After I recieve new scripts for SFC 3 German Version, I can build a German Version Server Kit and a German Version Patch.

the game exe files and all other game files are the same between all SFC 3 versions.. the only difference in the game versions is the Scripts and Sound Files.. sooo.. US/UK version of patch will work for German Players, so long as they can deal with English test on the screen during a mission.

I updated the link again.. Download verified as working correctly and installing correctly by Chris Jones just a few moments ago.. all people mirroring the patch, Please update your files again..

Howdy all... I just tried downloading the patch and received the following error when I tried logging on the D3...  I got bad CRC errors saying the following files were corrupt:

 Hullitems.gf
Meta.distresscall.scr
meta.hail.convoy.scr
meta.scan.scr
sfc.exe

Also when the DOS window flashed during the patching it could not find 3 files.  I don't know what they were but it flashed to quickly to see...  A little help here?  Thanks!

I downloaded the patch 12 hours ago from the thread in the Dynaverse3  title. It was the link that rotates mirrors. Anyway it pukes at 71% and gives error21 -invalid sprites.q3.  Now I got this exact same error trying to install 531 when it was 2 seperate files.  Then when you combined 531 into 1 big file, it loaded fine.

Now I spent 6 hours on this lol its true I aint lying. I have a dual boot 98/Xp . Tried installing 534 on both OP's
No luck. Then tried reinstalling 531 and got the same error. Then realized that I needed to install patch 1.01 before 531. Got 531 to work. So retried 534 installing patch 1.01 1st as 534 has no instructions. Not sure if I need 1.01 befoer 534 so tried both ways and no luck. I uninstalled and reinstalled SFC3 each time. Even imaged both partions with a back up image that is fairly clean and without SFC3.

The result is 534 will not install on my machine in either OP.  Now if I am the only 1 that has this problem, then I guess its tough banannas. If other people report it as well then you might want to take a look into it.
I miss the banging head into bricks icon from Taldren so I will improvise to demonstrate my frustration

Kaos, it sounds line you tried joining a v531 server with v534.. not sure what happened on that.. but i suggest you completely reinstall SFC 3 and patch exactly per instructions.. 1 copy of game on machine only, and patch (after removing all other copies).

this should correct your install problem with v534

v534 includes repaired scripts and it includes a new exe file and a hew hullitems.gf file.. It will not work with previous version patches.. as such, make sure tha the server you are attempting to join is a v534 server.

Try downloading from a link provided in the posting above and patching your game with it.. if game does not work, then read then SFC 3 Readme v534.rtf file located in your SFC 3 game folder after patching.


Also everyone, when installing the server kit and / or the patch.. make sure you turn your Anti-Virus off prior to install.. you can turn your Anti-Virus back on after the instillation is complete.

OK.. v534 can see v531 servers...

Kaos, that is the problem you encountered.. currently there are no v534 servers up and running.. which is why you got the bad CRC check

as such, people may want to consider changing the description and title of their server so that it states v531 and v534 respectively so that no one is confused...
