Galaxies at War Update
« on: July 17, 2004, 10:57:02 am »
I've been speaking with Rod O'Neal about GAW, and he is making some excellent process. The model collection is shaping up nicely, but some ship hardpointers would be a great help to get them all finished off. Any modders who who like to contribute models to the mod are also welcome to join the team.

I'm creating a new site for the mod to reflect all changes, and a new news board will be set up over at STGU to serve our needs. The really big change is the removal of the Terran Empire and the addition of the Peladines.

Heres the new race list:

United Federation Of Planets
Klingon Empire
Romulan Star Empire
Gorn Confederation
Hydran Kingdoms
Lyran Star Empire
Kzinti Hegemony
Interstellar Concordium
Andromedian Invaders
Peladine Republic
Tholian Holdfast
Seltorian Tribunal
Lyran Democratic Republic
WYN Star Cluster
House Of Korgath Pirate Cartel
Syndicate Pirate Cartel

Could this be sticky-ed so we can keep an eye on the progress of GAW?

Thanks for the news. I admit I'm disappointed the Imperials have been replaced.

I'll let Rod give full details, but it has to do with balancing and finding the right loadouts. I believe they will be in as non-playable however.

Copy the Feds over into another races slot and you'll have the Terrans, if you'd like.

The Terrans are not in at all. I've put the Frax in as non-playable. They make for a better AI opponent than the stock Neutral race (which are still there, I've just added the Frax ship specs).

As far as the history of the Peladines goes, depends on how you run them in a campaign. Their ships are fully capable. Their fighters rival the Feds, which no other race can claim. They also intruduce a different weapons set (none of which have to be fudged, they are all in SFC) and, therefore, different/new tactics. That's why I decided to use them. (J Carney was nice enough to do the shiplist section for them. I certainly appreciate his help.)

I know that not everyone is going to be totally satisfied no matter what. All that I can do is try to put together something that I feel is good and hope for the best. I just didn't like the Terrans, sorry.
If Romulans aren't cowards, then why do they taste like chicken?

Thanks for the plug Rod. I just got in from Drill earlier today. I'll start on the last couple of ships that I owe ya tonight.

I guess that your Klingon blood just was boiling for more Feds to kill.  ;)
