I lived for 2 years in Oscoda MI, and as a Michigander said, "Hold yer left hand out, and Oscoda is right where yer first knockle is on yer pointing finger."  I loved it up there, but I love to hunt and fish, and believe it or not, I like to ice fish...but really, the pertinant question is, where in Michigan.

The southern half of the lower P is mostly farm land, the northeastern of the LP is lots of woods, the northwestern has the sand hills...the UP, I can't tell ya much about, you'll have to ask a uuper.

But good luck, the people tend to be really friendly, the winters can come with a lot of snow, but it doesn't get as cold there as it does here in NE..and the summers tend to be milder because of the lakes ('course, that's where the snow comes from).

Michigan is a great state to live in. Midwesterners tend to be very friendly. Winters can be nasty but summers are great. What part of Michigan are you looking at? I would recommend some, and not others.

Just stay away from Flint, Ionia, Benton Harbor, and the whole Detroit area and you should be ok.  The weather is going to be a lot different then down in OK.

I agree with the others..the winters rarely get down to 10, but the summers are mild..ususally 70's..there is a lot of snow, but preperation can take care of that..good tires, chains, and a cell phone  :D
