OMG, someone's gotta do this ship...

While Aduril's Phoenix Constitution is pretty schweet looking, here's someone else's view of an Enterprise-lineage Constitution.

If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Oh, shiznit...

Man, you either don't have any idea what kind of ship design flame war that picture caused on the Taldren boards or have forgotten something very important.

That little flame war burned for weeks!

I love that ship (in the 100 poly range so all could enjoy it), and would love to see all the SFB/TOS style shipsdone like that- I think that is how it would have looked if Gene and Franz Joseph made the original Big E today.

But unfortunately, most people do not.

Wasn't there for that one. I just found this somewhere and someone had requested ships like this.

I learned somewhere that moddlers will make what they will and if people like it, they'll download it and if they don't, they don't have to.

Which kinda neutralizes this post, doesn't it?

No, it doesn't neutralize it at all... it just reminds them that there is areally kick@$$ Connie out there that needs to be done!

And as for the flame war, it got ugly for a little bit- but that was when we were all on one of our SFB vs. TV Trek kicks.

Maybe this lady's time has come; if so, I want an SFB NCL done on this patern with the NCC-1504 Alabama done to go with her!

She would be a beauty to see, but I personally hope to see her in Fed white rather than this "enterprise series" gun metal . .  .

I wish I could remember the Star Trek novels better, there was one in which Kirk refers to the Enterprise as that beautiful white swan necked lady, and another where she is mentioned as being alabaster .  .  . as much as I like aztecing and how it adds to  and enhances the ships visually, I wish it was more towards off whites than off to the greys.  After all the Fedrats oops! been reading battletech again . . . are in white ships cause they are the "good guys" . .

Keep up the good work.  That looks awesome. 8)

Could someone send me Anduril's Pheonix and maybe a few of his others.

I, Mudd-

Do you thinjk that you can honor my request of doing all the SFB ships in that style if you have the time?

And PLEASE[/i][/u] make the NCL the Alabama

Wow, Mudd, how long have you been working on that before I made this post?

Shoot, I'm going to have to find a slot in my SFC2 specs for this one.

I'd built this about 2 months ago ... I was just messing around. I offered it up to Mackie to texture, but he passed on it, so I forgot about it. I deleted it and had to see if Mackie still had it, to post here!

Allot of times models just sit on my HD until the mood strikes me to do anything with them. The Vudar ship had been hanging around for 6 months or so ...  ::)

You guys aren't gonna like what comes next ...

... I think I'm gonna have to rebuild her.  :-[

She's pretty poly heavy ... enough so you guy WILL complain. I tried optimizing the mesh, but she still weighs in around 7-8000 polys.

I can do better than that ...  ;)

Although, I'll take volunteers to texture her, one in Enterprise fashion, the other in good 'ol style TOS.

Any takers?

I, Mudd.

If you don't wanna rebuild her, I could volunteer to optimize it for you. I kind of consider poly-chopping while not losing visible detail one of my specialties. Also, do you know how to get smoothing working properly in SFC2? Cause I could do that to. Just a thought.

I got her rebuilt, down to 3239 polys ... but I really don't like the way I had to do it. (looks allot like a Taldren model pointy bridge module and all ... yeech!)

How do you want the original file Desty? What format?

I'm with Terradhynne on this one, the Enterprise era-aesthetic isn't bad in and of itself, but doing dodgy rip-offs of existing ships is what I have probs with, I remember reading the thread where that pic originated and most everyone agreed it was just Enterprise bits stuck to a recoloured TMP Enterprise Why can't people do original designs using the Enterprise style, like the Intrepid and that other one from Azati Prime (fans call it the Iceland) original at least in their form and not just a rehash of an existing ship.

Model's pretty good quality Mudd.
