Superb as always.  During the last year, I've let models accumulate in my HD (occasionally storing them to Zip or CDROM).  But when the uncommon ones come, I install them ASAP.  I will install no later than bedtime tonight!  This does, however generally happen with WZ's ships...

This is a very nice model. This is probably my favorite Fed model you've made. But man, you made it huge! In SFB terms, a CVA is about the size of a DN. But this is way bigger than a Battleship! Oh well, I kinda like its epic proportions.  ;) Keep up the good work.

It may be huge compared to the Mars class, but look at the silhouette of the Missouri class BB to the right of it :o

That thing looks bigger than the qeyllIS betleH BB, if someone could only convince Wicked to do an updated Yamato :(

BTW nice use of the Excelsior bridge and the shuttlebays from the Miranda in back, though the impulse engines look a bit small for a ship of that huge size IMHOgreat work anyway. :)

True, the Midway is pretty big compared to the battleships, but so is the Excelsior and it's only a BCH. I didn't change the size compared to the stock version so I can only assume that was the original intent. Most stock ships aren't perfectly scaled but they aren't too far off either. Of course, the Midway isn't intended to be a stand-alone combat ship, it's more of a giant shuttlebay.

Yeah, the Missouri even dwarfs the Galaxy class and the Yamato is even bigger than that. The Sword of Khaless is only 686 meters, and not as heavily armed. Obviously, the KA guys had a bit of an inferiority complex.

Not as much as the Romulans, whatever their KA battleship was called that was massive, at least as big as the Missouri IIRC if not bigger, Kind of setting things up for the D'deridex at 1.3km that's getting near to the ridiculous Star Wars capital ship sizes.

Star Wars scale? Guess we should just gloss over the Diamond Star and Borg Realm Conquerer.  :P

Heck, I LOVE its size!

I am, and hopefully WZ won't mind, using it AS a F-BB because I really never liked the stock TMP F-BB's design with the double hulls 'n' all.

And the smaller stock or retextured versions of the F-CV(A, or whatever) can stay as such...

... or in my SFC1, WZ's is the BB while the stock and retexes are the DNH and DN-Improved, whatever its symbol is.

Agggh!  What a beautiful mesh this ship is!

DNG is improved dreadnought, comes from the FFG improved frigate. Yeah this is quite a big ship but why not use the Mars BB as the BB? Just cos this is bigger don't mean it's more heavily armed, infact I count 30 phasers and 4 torpedo launchers, 2 fore, 2 aft on this to the Mars' 34 phasers and 10 torpedo launchers 6 fore, 4 aft. So in terms of basic weapons coverage the Mars is quite a bit more capable (10 torpedo launchers!?) and it's smaller bulk indicates more of a ship-to-ship combat role rather than the Ark Royal which looks like it's just meant to sit there and get shot at without being able to move.

Here's the link, lets hope nightsoft is up and running:

Be advised there is somebody [not me and I don't remember who] working on a retexture of her. I plan on collecting that version too whenever it is made available.

Yes, Nightsoft (which hosts my DRS site), is offline again. I've almost ran out of patience as there isn't much point in having a site when it's going to be down six days out of the week (or over two weeks in this case - for the 2nd time in a row). Regardless of the reasons for the downtime, this negates the purpose of even releasing ships if they can't be downloaded.

Clearly, the 'curse of the server' that's been hounding me for over five years still hasn't faded away. Every server I've set up on has either shut down or had some sort of problem. The things must be prejudice to deadites...

Surely we can do something about this. All gratitude for Nightsoftware's generosity but it is a little ridiculous.

Does anyone know how Raven Night is? That has to be the main reason Nightsoft has been so neglected. Perhaps Wicked Zombie's site could be mirrored at SFC III files or Battleclinic? Provided everyone involved approves of it. DRS has been such a valuable resource and there has to be an easy enough way to mirror and update the files. Even if it is necessary to mail a couple of CD's to get things started at the least we would have the option. Hopefully WZ can have an account that would allow him to tweak the site to his tastes. What's the fun of artistic expression if you can't experiment with new ideas?

How ironic, the server just came back online. Don't get me wrong, I do appreciate being hosted but the repeated downtimes do get annoying after a while. At any rate, I'll wait and see if the server decides to choke again before looking into other options. I'm a bit reluctant to move since I do have several hundred megs of files to transfer, not to mention redoing all those links.
