I'm a fan.  My wife is worse.  Much much worse.

What's funny is she hadn't really watched much of it until on a whim back in January we picked up season 1 on DVD.  She's now a rabid fan.  My daughter is a close second having the hots for Daniel Jackson.

It should be a good episode.  From what I've seen, Teal'c starts growing hair.  I don't know if I'll like that change.

I hear You Gambler, I'm Also Interested in the Spin Off Series Re; Atlantis.

Ironicly, I didn't care for the Theatre Movie at all. I thought Amen Ra a Pedophile.

I am a fan and I am taping it out at my father's house as i don't have cable anymore.

As to the movie, it was okay but Ra was a joke. They picked a horrible actor to play it.

What are you guys talking about? The show has been on for years. Seasons two and three are already out on DVD.

Actually up to Season 6 is out on DVD.  I know cause they're all sitting on my shelf.  We're talking about the Season 8 premiere Manannan.

Back to my wife.  Since she got into the series she has joined two different mailing lists.  Spends all of her time reading online fan fic etc.  The people on her list are so rabid and specifically want a relationship between Jack and Sam that they are all recording Atlantis and refuse to watch it until they see how Sam & Jack turn out.  (For those not in the know, Sam == Samantha, not some same sex relationship).

Last nights episode was quite interesting.  The little twist at the end was quite a gotcha.  We'd seen the lowdown so we saw part of that scene, but not the context.  We were quite surprised.

Season 8 just started last Night Mannannan.

It was pretty good. Hehe, It's going to take some getting used to talking about Brig. General O'neal.

I was a bit confused about Stephen talking about the premiere. For some reason I misread it and thought that he was talking about the series premiere.

I stopped collecting after season three. My problem is that after watching an episode once or twice Ive memorized the dialogue.

Um, I have to admit that I returned from my trip to San Francisco JUST to catch the season premiere.

Yes, I could have stayed, but he doesn't have the sci-fi channel...and the opportunity to get laid in SF just wasn't as important as seeing O'Neal's face when he heard "Brigadier General".  I also greatly enjoyed the whole Asgard/Replicator battles.  It's about time they finally won a battle against them.  The negotiations with the go'auld was also fun to watch, and how the Asgard showed up just long enough to take Daniel Jackson up to the Daniel Jackson was fun.

So let's see, we've seen Asgard ships named "O'Neal", "Samantha Carter" and "Daniel Jackson.  Will there now be an Asgard ship named "Teal'c"?  Also, how exactly does the US government feel about their citizen's/officers getting warships named after them by a very powerful alien race?

Corniest line in the show..."Department of Homeworld Defense"

I don't remember a "Samantha Carter" Asgaard ship.  I do remember the O'Neal.  Didn't last long, but it went out with a bang.

Samantha Carter was mentioned as being one of the ships involved in another replicator engagement.  :)

My wife watched it again Sunday afternoon.  I expect her to do it again a few more times before Friday.  I wonder what would have happened to Carter if O'Neil had zapped Fifth with the ray gun out there.  Would the bugs have killed Carter or just gone inert?

What is going to be truly interesting is how RepliCarter fits into the scheme of things.

I was wondering the same thing actually. I imagine a Doppleganger Episode in the Near future.

BTW, did anyone else think that Prometheus/203 battle against the deathgliders and h'tack vessels was awesome as hell?  I've been waiting for a scene like that ever since the first Prometheus episode and it paid off big time...

Also, what about getting the hyperdrive engines?  Earth is really moving up in the galactic scheme of things and I think it's about damn time...I just hope they end the series by going public and showing how the world deals with that...it would be a great way to cap it all off...

Umm, didnt they get hyperdrive with the X-303? You know, when they went to the Asgaard homeworld after it was over-run by the replicators. I liked how "Q" got infected by one of the "snakes" and ended up getting blown out of the airlock!  ;D
