We did Storm Season twice and I honestly feel a third time would be fun as well.

Since I'm a "newb," can any of you old farts think of any pre-CW6 servers that are orht playing over?

The original Rooks Tavern?

CW2 would be fun if there was a map saved, can't rember it exactly...Other then the 1AF and the rest of the Hydrans wiping the map completely clean of Mirak...lol. Then we went and beat the Klingons off the Fed homeworld....then we went and smacked the Gorn around...lol. Great fun with Max, Shadow Seraph, and the rest of the Hydran regulars... F/H/L/R vs K/M/I/G

You forgot the part where Rip the Jacker and I got ambushed by that romulan planet that played doggo until we were at R5 and then incinerated me with ph-4 fire. Then it fired something like 10 plasma R at Rip..who somehow survived the attack. Then the bastard cloaked itself.

Oh, yeah, that was fun

Almost like Autolycus and me attacking capella for 6 hours straight.

Rooks Tavern 3 with that huge map. The War between the Klingons and the Mirak will be remembered forever. I would love to have SS3 sometime, as that setup was classic and the map was well done by BBJ and Skull.

LB4 was fun, and with SQL it would be alot easier. I wouldnt mine trying that again for LB6 next year.

Also AOTK was a good map setup, just the 3 way didnt work. I would like to see that redone as a 2 way, with a good shiplist and mission pack.

Rook's Tavern III...

ISC/Mirak/Pirates vs Klink/Rom/Lyran vs Fed/Gorn/Hydran...

The server I cut my on-line teeth on. Both as a player and RM. (Yes, I just jumped right into command when I started...)

The mission, simple. ISC has to stop the war, both other teams had to beat up on each other and had to get through us to do it.

I loved the concept. Especially letting the kitties loose on the specified targets. Those were some pitched battles, especially against the Coalition.

Now that we've cured a lot of the issues with OP (the original was run under the very buggy early server kit), I wouldn't mind playing this one over again... Especially the fights with the Coalition over the ISC bases, and the race to the X-tech shipyards...

That's the one thing that's missing from today's servers. The constant RP summary that goes on with the fighting. I don't think PinkyGen or some of these other battles would mean as much if they weren't immortalized in RP threads...

I have the map converted to OP already, would work great with traditional alliances . . .

Not enough players to play most of the old servers. With a small player base numbering aroung 100ish, it would be difficult to have 8 Races and some of the large maps. No chance of doing AF (I have the MVM map), CW3-6 need more players. CW2 was fairly compact, but had the Feds in the middle surrounded by the other races in a sort of Pie fashioned heptogon OK then with lots of Feds probably not now.

If I had to choose one to scale down to existing Player base, it would probably be Rogue Jedi's, It suffered from OP coming out and the schism in the community, most going off to play Rooks Tavern One. It was a trad set up, with simple VCs, great map, few rules, and was sadly underplayed. Good one RJ!

An RT3.5 (sort of a redo of RT3 but with the new kit and some map tweaks) had been in the works a while back but we didn't think there was enough interest.

Still have all the maps and stuff, perhaps I should review and see if it's feasible. It's not like my SFC hosting server is doing much of late.

But with LB5, the continuing GW series, and the comming KCW server (if it's still a go) I'm not sure where it would fit in. $:-\$

I was thinking the same question when I saw Max mention his name. I miss that guy. I had a fight against him on AF. I can't remember what either of us were flying apart from it was Hydran vs. Klingon...but I know it was fun...heheh.

Up until a year ago or so I had been working on an updated and enlarged map that was based on the RT3 original that covers about half the galaxy.

I wouldn't mind seeing AOTK done again in some fashion. CW2 would be kinda cool. I flew Kzin on that server and I think we were obliterated in a matter of a few days.

The Rook's Tavern series was cool, RT3 probably being the best. That wouldn't suck doing over but I won't be flying Pirate again...no, no NO no!

Yeah..it was great meeting Empire players in pirate ships and having only a slight chance....or even getting mauled by the LDR AI...lol. Still, flying pirate does have its charms, few though they may be.

I would like to see the Pacification War done again.

The story was excellent, the map was good. The original was spoiled by a couple of "incidents" that cut it short. But if left to it's proper conclusion, then it really could have developed into something to tell stories about.

Just to stoke up a good debate...

It could also decide once and for all just which is the strongest race/fleet.
