Very very cool... question.. I know how to create glows... but yours seems to realy glow??? Is that green blob just an illumination map?

Really nice work! ;)

no.  i just turned down the green and increases the glow area. plus the main drive (the spheres) has a regulat ilumi map.  together they work quite well

well there was a lot of interest years ago.  its from the BBC's Blakes 7

plon synopsis is basicly ...there is an earth federation.  which is evil and corrupt.

the heros are all convicted crimanals whose goal is to bring down the federation...and/or  get rich in the proccess...they would all happily kill eachother if it suited them.  muder is a way of life and there basicly terrorists.

are they any better then the goverment there trying to bring dows.....marginaly

dont look for colourfull heros or happy endings here.

endings yes...but not happy ones

Don't be disenheartened.. I get the same sort of result when I do a string of B5 releases.  Most people know Star Trek, so they can recognize Trek ships.  But also, check out the responses to released ships even in Trek.. Feddies get lots of responses,Klingons get less,Rommies get less than them,Borg get about as good as Klingons, but if you're outside that range.. it's usually "Huh?" or not much response.  :p

I'm personally waiting for the Liberator to come out.. I have a Liberator/Excaliber battle planned.  May even bring the TARDIS in as a third race.. (grin).. not a practical battle plan, but it'll make lots of nice screenies.  :D

Yup, did one of my own.. I used to have some screencaps of it in battle against a Borg Cube, but they're not up right now.  I do have another shot up at the moment though that shows what it looks like and its scale..

It looks pretty cool in game when you center on it and it flies past another ship... (grin)..

It's available for download on my site in SFC 1, 2 and 3 formats..

spmeone here did a very good tardis.  beautifully moddeld.....i did one 2,  looked just as good but way just a box on a box and used pictures of the tardis as textures...easylol

trouble is the tardis is as small as a shuttle,  or as big as a planet.  depending on wheather the chamelion circuit is working.

also  she has no weaponarry worth attacking a starship with,   but is allmost totaly indistructable.

ill try and do some federation (thats the federation in blakes 7) pursuit ships. Zen once implyed to blake that the liberator could handle 3 pursuit ships.  but more then that he "hih not have enough data"

Thanks, it was my second original model... have a Red Dwarf in the works as well as a Starbug, just want to get the greebled poly problem on my "'Dwarf"  fixed before I show completed Starbug pix..

But I'm glad that kingconstantine did the Liberator.. it was one that I was going to do at some point, but he's done it more justice than I could've at this point.  :)

Thanks.. my idea for simulating the TARDIS' invulnerability was simple.. keep it small and let it move fast.  I've never seen the break model in use ingame as a result.. ;)   I fit her as a scout for UI to limit any weapons it may have.  And we'd usually seen the outside of the TARDIS as being the canon callbox size, so sizing wasn't an issue in my idea.  Of course, I see Jon Pertwee or Colin Baker at the controls anyways.. and the TARDIS was kind of stuck on size and shape on the outside at that point anyways.  :)

I've never seen any of the Federation pursuit ships.. I've just never seen enough episodes.. (Think I've seen part of one where Blake and crew were teleporting down to the surface of some planet, and that's about it unfortuantely).  I did read all the synopsis on the show that I could though because I was curious about the show and wanted to see it.  :)  And I have always loved the Liberator's design.  :D

thanks for the enthusiasm.  the reasoin my lib looks so much like the studio model is that all its textures are lifted straightn from the studio model ref pics,  except the main drive.  its chearing but it works.

im gona have to be creative wth the pursuit ships.  though the "system" pursuit ships.  from the species which built the liberator.  should be easy

which version of the red dwarf are you doing?  do you have a preferance?

will we see blue midgit?

If I remember correctly, the System pursuit ships were just the dome and the drive spike, right?  If so, it should be wicked easy to do.  :)

We all have our preferences.. I did mine based off the stubby Dwarf..

It looks great in Max, but when it's ingame, I get a lot of back polies that I need to strip out.  I'm beginning to think I should just start it over, because no util I've found so far will allow me to just removed internal polies, which is where the problem is right now.  :/

Doesnt look half bad man...... although ueah I would agree.... when you start getting problems with polys in max ... it does become a drama sorting things out.. and it is somtimes easyer to start again!!!!!!!!

Qyestion on textures..... how do you use more than one texture map... i.e if i completely fill my 1024 x 1024 texture map called for example ship.bmp, ship_i.bmp etc waht do I call the next page..

I only ask because it looks like your usng more than one here?

Federation Pursuit Ships are a problem - the model I created is the closest approximation I could come to - the source materials I found were at times contradictory.  Some models appear to have differently shaped wings etc, but this might be in keeping with the fact that Travis was assigned the most advanced and scarcest model available to the Federation at the time...but who knows?

As for the System Pursuit Ships, I'm looking forward to seeing your version.

Very cool.... still ploygon trouble though eh... and I agree it does look a bit squashed... in the start of the show when it flys past it is quite long...

but looks awsome in all fairness... I like!!
