In Honor of Andy Probert....
« on: July 04, 2004, 01:51:05 pm »
Like the Thread states, I did this to Honor Andy Probert who Designed the First TNG Romulan Warbird D'Deridex-Class
From My understanding he did not have the Time neccesary to make his vison come full circle...So this is my way of saying Thank You to Mr Probert...for designing argueably the most beautiful starship in Star Trek and possibly Sci-Fi

Thanks

Enjoy everyone:

Man, did you happen to read my mind or something?  That's spot on of what I was thinking a blending of the D'Deridex and the Valdore should look like.  What's the specs on her?

That is one beautifully piece of art work. What is she going to be called and when do we get our hands on her?

If you are looking for name suggestions, may I offer Rihannsu, the sword representing Romulan power. I think the type of sword Rihansu was is called a V'relnac, but I'm not sure.
If it ain't broke, fix it til it is.

Isn't Rihannsu the Romulan word meaning, erm, Romulan? Good name though either way.
If I determine the enemy's disposition of forces while I have no perceptible form, I can concentrate my forces while the enemy is fragmented. The pinnacle of military deployment approaches the formless: if it is formless, then the deepest spy cannot discern it, nor the wise make plans against it.

Only Azel could take such a signature Romulan design and make it MORE Romulan.   :)  Beautiful work dude.  And I'm really glad that WrathofAchilles wants to tackle this design too.

What a wonderful reimagining of a greta man's work! I went to a convention years ago that had Mr. Probert as a guest speaker> he brought along a lot of slides showing his work in various sci-fi projects. I got to see his vision (before shots) compared to what the studios and their budgets (after shots) ended up with. What a difference! One in particular?the drydock scene in Star Trek: TMP, was a LOT busier and interesting than what we actually saw on screen.

D'Proberix-class, or something else that's Romulan sounding and works in his name.
