There is a time and place for every thing. There is also such a thing as tact and good manners.
 This thread is for those showing respect to a company and place we where quite fond of.
  You  obviously have issues with Taldren, Thats all good its your right.
 This is not the time or the place for this kind of mud slinging. Its like showing up at a funeral uninvited and bad mouthing the deceased.
 If you feel so strongly about your feelings start another post and state them.
 Instead of trying to upset people who are obviously grieving.
 In this you are neither showing good manners or tact.

What?  Even if we give you the benefit of the doubt and assume a typo here and that you meant to type "abstract,' I'm thinking you need to consult a dictionary because in the illustrious words of one Inigo Montoya: "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."


Taldren's financial failure wasn't abstract at all. It was tangible....real, if you will.  Oh wait...maybe you mean abject.  Nah...that kind of vocabulary is clearly beyond you. 

Where most in this community will be concerned, Taldren was a success.  They succeeded in bringing a lot of people's dreams to reality when they created the SFC series based upon the board game, Star Fleet Battles.  They've created a game that has provided thousands of hours of enjoyment to a large number of people...people who remain interested and loyal to the game and the community surrounding it.


Yes..it's your right to speak you mind and state your shallow opinions.  Just expect yourself to be called out for the insignificant wanker and malcontent that you are.  Go sell crazy somewhere else, man.  We're not buying.

Thats funny i am just sat here looking at SFC 1 and you know it is very odd it does not mention Taldren at all, no logos no credits no mention at all and it is funny as they even mention the board game makers but not taldren odd that aint it. And it is strange that if as you claim Taldren was that good that it's games are not the highest selling ST games produced.

As for the community surrounding it, lets see i been here since day one, worked for mplayer, been a GSA Wizard, oh and worked for Heat.net, but let me guess as far as your conserned the community starts and ends with dynaverse.

Devil Jones, I have no problems with you stating your views in a appropriate thread.  However, this was a thread made by people in this community that wanted to honor Taldren for what they have done for us in the last 5 years.

It was inappropriate to post these views here.  It was obvious they were meant to incite and flame and were done improperly in a thread that was made by the community to express their heartfelt emotions in a very sad situation.

In other words bro, dont come in here and poop in my litterbox.  Im not going to stand for much more of this.  If you want to start a Taldren bashing thread, do it in another forum, like Ten Forward.  Just dont expect the people here to treat you very well.  If you havent read the Header on these forums, it says "Taldrenites".  You would think you would understand where you are posting.

What is your point?  I doubt very much anything I have said proves whatever your point is, that is for sure.  As near as I can tell, your point is to piss on the good-faith efforts of people and to kick a company when it's down.   


And just so you're aware, I've been in the community since the beta days of SFC1.  I was around on MPPlayer (MPig).  I've been in the GSA community.  Yes, I prefer D2 and D3 play over GSA.  Big damn, deal.  That certainly doesn't mean I think this community starts and ends with the dynaverse.  That's both patently false and ridiculous.


What your point is about whether or how Taldren was credited on SFC1 packing is beyond me.  It certainly doesn't change the fact that in the SFC series of games, Taldren was a success in that they gave a core group of people something they had always wanted and have provided thousands (probably hundreds of thousands) of hours of fun and community to a great many people.  You be sure to let me know when you've managed a small fraction of that, m'kay?
