Azel's romulan design, WIP continued
« on: June 26, 2004, 07:20:39 pm »
hey, I was working on Azel's rom bird on taldren forums and it was a while before I realised they were relocated here, so I'll just post the link the the images.

I am completed on the mesh I think, maybe some more detail on the lower wing, it's around 8500 polies. I have a very good pic of the valdore to work the texture of.

thanks, I actually have never done any sort of sfc3 modding so if anyone can show me how or is willing to convert it then thats great. Also I really need info about texture file formats and bump/light map useage?

If you can make textures as good as you can model..... then that is going to be one fine ship!!!

I have recently learnt how to convert ships ready for sfcIII usage and I dont mind helping you..

Come over to the STGD forums and PM me with your email address. I will send you all the stuff I have, (manuals and things)

http://www.strategyplanet.com/sfc/sfc3/faq_models.shtml

The modeling manual is also found here.. also everything you need to know about how to import a model and make sure it is playable.
I am new to this but I can now make models fully playable in game and if you want a hand just email me.

Considering the detail that's in the mesh (the hull plating and the command section look really cool) the poly count isn't that high. You must be very good at this. For casual playing it should run OK. Get into a fleet battle with a bunch of ships, explosions, etc..  at this detail level though and you'll have probs.

It looks great and I like seeing Azel's stuff done with all of the details (or as much as practical) put in. I'm looking forward to seeing how it turns out.

Like I said in another post, I've been getting the Romulan fever as of late. You know the symptoms. Green blood, pointed ears, an increased cleverness, and an obsession with ornithology...

Speaking of birds, i can't wait to get my hands on this one. What's it going to be named?

Yeouch... Now that's a Future Trek-era Warbird, more suitable than those lousy Reman ones from Nemesis! :)

I'll admit, the name sort-of bothers me... I can't put my finger on why but it means nothing usually... At least the design is wonderful! :)
