Hmmmm ... not sure whether to ask for access or not - I don't have any intention of running a server, but do have some mission/mapping questions I'd like to kick around with the people who will use them...

LOL  :D  No, it's not that bad - I'd just like to set up my missions so that a server admin can use their map to better control the nature of which missions show up where.   E.g. knowing what the differences will be if they choose a terrain type of Asteroid 1 as opposed to Asteroid 2 etc, and getting a feel for some of the options and preferences there - lots of possibilities, but it makes more sense for me to ask them what they'd like before I blindly plod ahead and do something weird  ;)

I'd like to request access to the Server Admins Group.  It's unlikely that I'll be hosting a server anytime soon, but I'd like to play around with the SQL-based server for a bit to have a better idea of what the capabilities are.  Thanks.

System Specs:

Dell Dimension E521
AMD64x2 5000+
2G DDR2 RAM
ATI Radeon HD 4850 512MB GDDR3
250GB SATA HD

Done, you should see it in the Board Index now. Though that walkthough is out of date - and I have a better strategy for db cleans now..

hello, I would like to request access to run a D2 server. Also, upon acceptance, I will be running this server on my LAN (so that I can play with just the people on my LAN) If you could tell me if this is even possible (i have a dial-up modem :() or point me in the direction of any Previous posts that talked about this i would be very content. I have the latest server, patch for the game, and the directory patch thinge. Thank you.

who the hell are all these people? Dont request access to the D2 admin server forum unless you plan or have done a server. Its not a public forum. Its not a debate forum. Someone please clean up the forum and delete all the people who have access already that dont belong there. Damn.

Heh, I was thinking something similar to that, but more along the lines of clear out the people that haven't been on the boards in a while.  No need to drive people away with that sort of talk though, if someone is truly interested in hosting a server, by all means request access.

I am looking into trying to run a server, but need more information on the configuration of it.  Access would be nice as I can read what is there (or a good document file on it would help).

Thanks.
