If you are looking for a post from the last 24hrs

We are currently transfering the database from the old Taldren forums into here.  Any posts that were made in the last 24hrs are showing up at the last few pages of each forum.  So if you  want to see it come back to the front page, just find it and make another post.

Yeah. I had a WIP of a nice Fed DN in the Models forum, but it went away to the bottom of the list. So I found it, bumped it, and it's back where it's supposed to be.

So just bump your threads folks. ;)

Praxis' "What was that SQL trick?" thread is missing posts from the last 24hr.

And it looks like the Dynaverse 3 Is missing the all the posts from Taldren (in particular I'm looking for another SQL thread there started by Praxis titled "Ha! ... something"

Just to let you know in case you hadn't caught that. (or I'm guessing the import isn't finished yet...)

Do you still want a copy of the SFC3 flatfile db Bonk? I can easily provide you with a number of samples, you don't actually need SFC3 to run the Server Kit, as I'm sure you know, so you don't actually need SFC3 to test it. (Although obviously, it would help!!)

Even so, plenty of people will be willing to help you work on getting the Webmap working for SFC3.

Indeed, send along a zip of a few copies (<500KB total, If larger I can PM you my pop email...).
I'm looking for a few SQL samples too (could do it up quite quickly), I'm confiident I can make one
for the flatfile but it may take a while, but maybe not - need to get a look at the db to tell.

Yeah I thought about just running a server, but since I don't have a copy of SFC3 it would be
impractical. A nicely populated db would make for a more reliable result and save me the trouble.
Is there a SFC3 flatfile cleaner out there yet?

No flatfile cleaner, gonna be a little trickier to get a MySQL database for you, as hardly anyone uses it for SFC3, not stable enough. I'll see what I can do though. I can provide you with a simple download, save's sending it via e-mail.

Actually Bonk the SFC3 server really doesnt need a DB cleaner.  The AI is actively run on the server, and it cleans itself.  Thats part of the problem with the kit.  The AI simulation and battles can really overload it and SQL has so many open threads, its unuseable.

Cool, a link would be great Pelican. I'll talk to Praxis about an SQL db sample, he seems to have a strategy to manage the SFC3 server on SQL that he is pretty confident about. I'm going to put together a Linux MySQL server today to see if the OP kit is any more stable on its db.

Interesting about the AI on the SFC3 server and no clean necessary. One way to fix that excessive AI activity might be to start the kit on a 2x2 map - it might generate only one or two AI , then edit the map to the actual map to be used for the campaign... I've found the only thing that affects the AI initialy generated by the SFC2 kits is map size. (though AI battles can be disabled in the OP kit now anyway) "The Race" map at 3x50 only generated 4 AIs on the first serverkit start, on the stock map 21x28(?) 100 AIs are generated on the first server start.
