Topic: Windows XP Service Pack 2 Release Candidate 2 Available

Here is the release candidate 2 web site for Windows XP Service Pack 2.

the Final Version is schedualed for some time in july, however Microsoft is rechecking the coding now to make sure of security issues just in case they need to make a RC 3.

Currently there is not a RC 3 in progress.. as such RC 2 is the latest version.

Install instructions for RC 2 is at the bottom of the page at the following link.

Please remember that the RC 2 is still considered Beta and is 263 MB in size..

the install instructions are a bit tricky, but the method listed is currently planned for XP and older versions of Windows in the future..

RC 2 is available for XP Home and Pro currently and the initial Official Release will be for only XP home and Pro.. Porting to older windows versions like Win 2K may occur later this year.

I'm having real trouble getting it to download. WinUpdate downloads fine, as does everything else. But SP2 seems to stop downloading at around 1.6mb

EDIT: Okay, using the 'full' download (for networked computers, the full 264mb download packaged up), I'm getting 170kb/sec and should have the whole thing in another 24 minutes from now.
