Question. OP. Overloading PhX
« on: July 01, 2004, 05:05:25 pm »
Hello.

I have noticed an inconsistency when it comes to overloading PhX's.  Sometimes I can, and sometimes I cant.  I cant seem to troubleshoot it to anything that I can find.  Unable to tie it to damage, weapons charge, phaser reset time, or anything that I can find.  The only thing that I have found, is that it has to do with weapon groups, i.e. when I attempt to overload my "PhX only" weapons group, sometimes I cant, but if I click on them individually, I can overload.  However, once I overload them all individually and hit my group again, they revert to normal status.  I have noticed this on many ship types.  Does anyone else notice the same thing or tell me what I am overlooking here? ("read the readme, Villa!").  Thanks for the time.

Is the point defense button selected?  If the phasers are set to automatic point defense, the phaser x doesn't want to be overloaded.  An individual hardpoint will overload when only that one is selected, but as soon as you switch to another hardpoint or group, it will revert to normal.

OK, I'll pay attention to PD.  Sounds right.  Appreciate the tip.

I tried your tip and it panned out.  Thanks again.  One of these days I'll get around to reading the manual.
