Its mainly just a disclaimer and model policy thing. If you notice, many modelers have disclaimers or policies kicking about somewhere, on there site or in part of the download. It all started after a huge flame war about who could kitbash what without permission etc and a few people (modelers and bashers alike) got somewhat 'heated' in there debate. I chose this method mainly so you can't miss it. It's not some legal thing and I'm certainly not gonna come knocking on your door to check on you     Besides, if your not gonna kitbash, then there's no problem

Fantastic model, really nice textures, 16 million colours this time aswell, really smooth. BTW the thumbnail on your site for the Cheetah shows the old one, confused me a first.

BTW would it be possible for me to get ahold of the original texture files so I can strip out the hull textures to do LDR versions of this and the Lion and Royal Tiger?

I'm really looking forward to seeing more LDR retextures from you. Maybe the WYN LDD as well?

Once we get the Leopard I'll be able to run off the LDR version quickly as it's just a stretched Cheetah. Then a WYN Destroyer will be fairly easy to do, just have to come up with a base hull texture and then run the glowy areas through a filter and slap a WYN badge on. Speaking of which anyone got a nice pic of the WYN symbol I can use?

Oh and Rod, how could you forget the WYN pocket Battleship that'll be an absolute beast.

Your browser may just need refreshing, I simply overwrote the old file with the new one, but it's still the same name (ie, lff.jpg)

I'll mail over the PSD's for you, save you some time I expect

Cheers, that'll save me a bucket-load of time actually.

Oh the picture is correct, it's odd that my browser didn't refresh is as it's set to refresh on every visit to a page... Oh well.

I am really going for a uniform fleet concept with the non-canon races and I figured while we await Thulls' Lyran DDs I came up with these retextures....

LYRAN DESTROYER ideas: the light brown is a COUGAR, the dark one SMILODON, and the white one is a SNOW LEOPARD, at least in my mind, LOL. SHARE the INSANITY....

http://klingonfanatic2.20m.com/images/lyran_destroyers.jpg

For now, I was hoping to make these larger than the frigate but I can't get CV to resize these larger without Mauling the model...

Perhaps the destroyer X could have an ESG on the "arms" as well as the main hull?

If Thulls doesn't mind I'd like to use his textures on Desty Nova's Lyran Shuttle...

Doh! I forgot the warp engine glow on the "Cougar", LOL. I fixed that just in time to learn about your Lyran destroyer WIP Thulls. Nice LDD!

BTW: Desty Novas' Lyran shuttle doesn't like to work with your textures well, I guess I'll go back to the stock textures for that one, LOL.

The LDR set that goes with these Lyrans of yours will also be sweet...

LDR Lion (conjectural design) is finished, I'm getting to work on the Cheetah next Thanx for the files Thu11s, even though it took me five minutes to find out how to open them in PSP.

Well I dont know how to open PSD's in PSP

A quick texture slap on.

Still needs a bit of fiddling, so hopefully have the Leopard done soon too

Looks fantastic Thu11s!

BTW What I meant was I couldn't open the PSD's in PSP7 which is the program I work in, but I have PSP8 which can open them, but I hate using cuz none of the features work how they're supposed to so I have to open it in PSP8 to strip out the Lyran hull textures then save it as a bmp and tidy up my horrible mess in PSP7. Still it's much easier than when I did the Tiger by magic-wand selecting all the hull lines

Well, I found a site that has loads and loads of ssd's for 1st, 2nd and even 3rd generetion X-ships and the guy has done alot for the Lyrans, all in different styles depending upon which county they come from. This is the one I like best:

Ignore the content of the ssd, I think it was a 3rd generation x-ship, and in my mind they're kinda munchkiny

but thats waaaaaaaaaaay down the road. But at least I have an idea

I'm presuming you mean the Trimaran's? well they'll be done pretty much the same as the Lion with the extra warp over the rear. As for the power packs, I'd like to do seperate ships with and without, but whether I can do a universal pack that will fit all ships remains to be seen. I thought about it on the lion, but ended up leaving it off till I do the smaller Tri's which are much more dependant on the packs to run properely. Hopefully tho

Great! I love having the LDR and WYN versions that you've done.

Oh, I didn't forget the PBB. Trust me, when the trimie came along you would have seen the request/suggestion go up.

Have you considered doing spot type variant retextures on the ships you've already done? Also, I must say I like the disruptor ports on the Lyran FF - have you thought about using that for the rest of the ships (it seems the DD will have them as well)?

Also, there's a pic of an unpainted model in the starfleet games store on ADB's website of the bottom of the STT, which shows the battery banks and the maulers. Might be good as a base if you want to go that way.

The others have the disruptor ports already, in the same location no less.

I think the spots are because this is the Cheetah class while the Tigers have tiger stripes, it's nice to have some distinction between the classes anyway.
