recharging...
« on: January 20, 2003, 02:58:12 pm »
I 've been flying a Vor'Cha.  After I fire a Photon the charging status won't show its recharging.  Thinking that it may be an energy issue, I slow down, turn off tractor ('cause I use 'everything' in battle) and wait for a recharge.  Nothing.  After the time passes for charging I fire another torp and it fires and starts to visually charge again.  Is this issue covered in the soon-to-be-released-so-I-can-get-on-with-some-serious-butt-kicking  patch?

Also, IMHO, I think the Warp Core should at least be twice or three times as tough  to take out, since it is the ships bread and butter.  Make it strong enough so it would have to either be destroyed by a barage of firepower from 2 maybe three ships or take a whole regement of Marines to take out, or is that where a Legendary Security officer to defend the WC comes in?  Just a thought.

The speed at which you fly does not alter your recharge rates, your speed is handles my impulse engines, weapon/tractor/shield power by the warp core.

This may just be a graphical glitch, you will be able to fire as soon as your weapon stops cycling.

Every single version of SFC has had that problem. Sometimes the graphic just doesn't load right. I've just learned to play around it.

Correct.  Especially noticeable when you have multiple heavy weapons on one hardpoint.  The UI might show one weapon on the hardpoint charging while any others aren't.  Once charged, the indicator might show all weapons charged and might not, but they will still all fire.

I feel the same way about Klingon, or for that matter - all primary weapons especially Klingon disruptors.  As I recall, on BoPs they would fire from their wing cannons repeatedly in the episodes.  Is there anyway to speed them up closer to the level of a machine gun rather than a 20-pump air rifle  --- regarding recharge rate?

Unfortunately, no. All of the recharge rates are hard-coded
